The food was good. We ordered the poblano soup to start with which was tasty. My husband had brisket flautas and I had poblano enchiladas. Both meals weren’t great, but fine. The rice and black beans were both lack luster...needed salt. Upon arriving several of the tables were cleared of dishes, but messy when we first tried to sit down at them with crumbs and such at table. I’m sorry to say , but I wouldn’t go back if I were back in town.

Well, that's what we went here for. And it was well worth the visit. The place is very tastefully decorated and furnished, and the tequila was well presented and on point.
Arrive with time to spare on festive days as this place is quite attractive.

Great food and service, reasonable prices - generous drinks! This has become our new neighborhood Mexican restaurant. Easy access, friendly service, quality meals. We go back every week now!

Had the Guacamole made to order - Delicious! Salsa has a kick! Briney Shrimp - delicious! Poblano Enchlada dinner - delicious!

Just came from dinner 7/14/21. I ordered the carne asada. This is the second time I've eaten here in the past few months. The last time, the service was atrocious. I had to go inside and ask for a service person to wait on us. Strike one. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas. I swear, there was little if no alcohol in the margaritas. Strike two. Probably not a good idea to order margaritas because it's easy to load 'em up with margarita mix, which can fool one into thinking they're good. I make better ones without having to think about it much. Limes, Tequila, Triple sec, although I prefer Cointreau. OK. I'm a bit of an alcohol snob. If I drink, I want to feel something more than a sugar high you might get with margarita mix. The food, when it came was good. Tonight, the service wasn't as bad, and still, it was difficult to get a service person to come and wait on us. Or get more water. For my friend to get more iced tea. I had forgotten my phone and asked for a real menu. I realize, scanning the bar code is the new thing, in light of Covid and is probably here to stay. The bar code thing. Hopefully not Covid. I don't mind the bar code thing. I think is smart and cool. However, we got one menu for three people. The food. The grilled flank skirt steak was tough and lined with loads of gristle. Not edible. I left it on my plate. Strike three. I got a to-go container for the black beans and rice and guac, which was good. So, obviously, with three strikes, I will not be going back. The sad thing is that it's within walking distance of my home. So, if you're thinking about going there, walk the other way.

We were a very large party on a Sunday evening. Got served right away and had fantastic service. They had delicious guacamole. We will come back here definitely in the future.

We had pork tacos - 2 different kinds - with rice (made from spinach and needed salt but none on table) and black beans. They were ok.
The chips and dip were very good, as was the chicken soup. The avocado was good but way too much lettuce and not enough “goodie.”
It was a busy night and the restaurant was too loud to carry on dinner conversation.

The decor is really nice. The service was excellent and margarita was excellent! Even had a live musician on Friday (not sure on other nights). The only negative we found is they didn't have refried pinto beans only black beans.

The entrees & Salads were good but we found the tacos to be small & somewhat bland/dry - not at all worth the price. The queso was okay but small for $5. The margaritas were good with various flavors to suit anyone in your group. Good service, quick delivery of food if you don’t have long to stay.

My family and I stayed about a block away and decided to actually enjoy dinner by practically walking across the street. Environment was great, staff friendly....chips and salsa were off te chain. Tacos and salads were on par. I would definitely recommend this place if your in the neighborhood and the mood strikes for mexican!

I've been here at least four times and each time the food has been great and so has the service. I LOVE mexican food and this place does it right! Can't go wrong coming here!

Wish I had a photo to post because it looked amazing! Which is always key to the start of a good meal for me. However, I’ve eaten it too quickly for little regard for some food photography.. I had the Brisket Flautas which were juicy, meaty and lots of spices for a great balanced taste sensation! Accidental find after visiting the cat cafe around the corner.

I don’t know why we’ve continued to go to Mescalitos, but those days have ended. I suppose it’s because it was quite good several years ago. And the food is still pretty tasty. But the service spoils everything. Case in point is our latest visit - 15 minutes, once seated, to get water or drinks. Then, one entree arrived and then it took, again, another 15 minutes for my dinner companion’s food to arrive. This was after another server came to the table to ask if my dinner companion ‘remembered what he ordered for his entree’. No apologies from anyone. Sorry, but that just is not acceptable. There are far too many Mexican and Tex Mex restaurants in this town to put up with Mescalito’s poor service. ps - the queso was watered down.

We enjoyed our Mango Margaritas and shrimp tacos on their outdoor patio. The food and drinks were very tasty. The service was a little slow, but good. They forgot to service some of the food ordered.

Love this place! Found it by accident the first time and just had to go again. My coworkers loved it too. Prices are very reasonable and the food is great. They had a special on margaritas and they didn’t disappoint! Highly recommended
