we were a table of 8 and we had ordered a bunch of items. We had reserved a private room for a few hours. The waiter did an excellent job in keeping us focused when he needed to and allowing us to go on our merry way when needing to. There were a few jokes and he prodded people to... More

Great Staff, good food! Had the blackened shrimp and grits, very good! Breaks come with a salad bar. Cornbread, greens, biscuits, blackeyed pees on the side. Too stuffed to eat dessert but they looked good too.

This place was soooo cool. The house, the tables, and the decor were all so fun. Our waiter took incredible care of us and helped us pick out the best dishes. Every meal comes with the salad bar and this great basket of corn bread and muffins. You will not go away hungry!! All of our meals were well prepared... More

Stopped by with 2 friends while in Atlanta for dance competition! The atmosphere was delightful and the food was wonderful! I could ( and probably should ) have stopped at the salad bar... but my shrimp & grits were divine, and took home some pie for dessert! Definitely a must stop and try spot! I will absolutely be back again!

I had been here 2 years ago and didn't remember it being so bad. This place draws a crowd of convenience but the food and service leave much to be desired. The waiter was even bargaining with us to leave a cash tip. If you don't know good soul food, this is not the place to try it. If you... More

This was my first taste of true Southern cooking. I had collard greens, black-eyed peas, and pickled watermelon rind for the first time. All interesting flavors. The restaurant has huge portions so people can definitely share meals. The decor is a "Gone With the Wind" theme and it was fun to see the different drawings and photos from that movie.... More

Charming decor for tourists but that is where the charm ends. Food is low grade diner food at best and service is extremely slow. Large room we were in on a Sat. night was never over half occupied yet the server, who was pleasant, commented over and over about being "slammed" with more patrons than he could handle. Order till... More

My husband and I went for dinner after we received it as a recommendation from a local. The food is absolutely delicious!!! I had the mashed potatoes w/gravy and fried chicken!!! It was so tasty, I ate it all!!! My husband had the fried catfish w/ rice and he really enjoyed it! My only complaint was that the service was... More

Stopped here because I was hungry while roaming around downtown. I didn't want to eat at a chain such as hard Rock and wanted to sample southern cooking. It was loud and the service was slow. It took a while before anyone took my order. Once they did I was invited to the salad bar. It consisted of a bowl... More

We were in Atlanta for 6 weeks and tried many restaurants most of which were great. . This is by far the WORST restaurant we tried. No atmosphere, dirty (my shoes stuck to the linoleum tile around the "sideboard". ) Carpet filthy. Stuffed pheasants on the walls that looked like they've never been dusted. Food was horrible. Tasteless. Worst dried... More

Downtown Atlanta's Oldest Southern Dining restaurant since 1967. We are a "Gone With the Wind" themed restaurant, a place where the characters presence are felt from the menu to the overall decor to the memorabilia on the walls. We have created a menu of Southern classics that have been enjoyed by groups large and small from the moment we opened our doors. Dishes such as, Aunt Pittypat's Fried Chicken, 12 Oaks BBQ Ribs, Georgia Catfish, just to name a few. Our menu also includes delicious appetizers and tempting desserts made fresh in our bakery daily. We have a full bar, plus draft beer by local breweries and a Specialty Drink menu to wet your whistle. So come on by and let us show you our Southern Hospitality!
