I travel frequently and usually ONLY take time to comment on great experiences. ........ While I have eaten at MANY top restaurants from New York to California , this OVERALL, is my FAVORITE.... ...... The steaks, ( ALL FOOD ) is TOP-NOTCH, and ALWAYS cooked to perfection. The service is impeccable & the staff is AMAZING !!!!! I do not... More

So I have options. I also have opinions. In my professional opinion when I am presented steak options I often chose Hal's. Yes, it is a throwback of a restaurant - maybe to the '50s. I could see the mad men hanging in there. They allow smoke. Yes, it can be crowded. Yes, you may get hit on by your... More

This place was very much what I anticipated and better, with one caveat. I did not know that patrons could smoke cigars downstairs. I have asthma, not to mention I simply like my lungs and want to keep the color they are currently. Since I was here on business, I had no option but to tough it out. We sat... More

Classic steakhouse, which usually means good, but not great food. Hal's is an exception. Best steak I've ever had! 12 oz Filet ($53) and best cheesecake I've ever had. Great service and typical steakhouse menu, but several seafood, chicken and pasta choices on the menu.

Hal's on Old Ivy I was a spectacular location for a birthday dinner with friends. I had to veal Marsala, great wine and a wonderful dessert brought to me by the attentive staff. Dining room is a little noisy but with a fantastic vibe on a Friday night. Complementary garlic bread with dinner was fantastic.

If you are looking for a busy trending place, then you have found the Mecca. Old school decor and service come along some of the most awesome steaks in the US. Five star quality meat with perfect temperature and crust. I will also recommend my personal favorite side which is the mac and cheese with truffles. If you want to... More

Hal's is clearly a leading dining establishment in Atlanta. You are certain to be presented with award winning cuts of beef, fresh seafood options and assortment of soups, salads and sides that will leave you little room for enjoying a dessert. The point of a Steakhouse is to eat meat. The meats are thick and cooked to your idea of... More

Our first visit to Hal's was excellent and we will definitely be back! I ordered the filet mignon and truthfully, it was perhaps the best I've ever eaten! I also ordered the crab salad and it was amazing -- very flavorful! Our service was impeccable and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the noise level in the... More

This was our first time dining at Hal's. We were celebrating an anniversary for our parents. The restaurant was very loud and you could only hear the person next to you at our table of 6, so it was very hard for them to join in the conversations. The service was impeccable (Tom) and the food was very good. Tried... More

Pros: The service was 5 star. The overall service compares to any high end restaurant. I had the crap salad for appetizer and they give you a lot of crab meat for the salad. The steaks are spot on as far as temperature, seasoning, and presentation. The cheesy mashed potatoes were very good. Cons: The atmosphere up stairs is very... More
