We were all starved when we arrived. Much to our pleasure they have an extensive wine list and excellent choices particularly of Italian wines. We each had salads and we're surrprsed by the excellent Blueberry vinaigrette...tart but tasty. The Entres were all delicious. My ahi tuna was fabulous... forbidden rice with a light lemon sauce and a Salsa-style relish with... More

I had been going to Portofino since Michael and Dina opened 16 years ago... It was my favorite place in Atlanta and I dined there almost weekly for 11 years. Then I retired and moved away and had not been back in 5 years... When I walked in the door with friends (who had never dined there) I was greeted... More

I mean- you can have a drink in the bar under the gaze of an Ernest Hemingway portrait by Steve Pendley. That should be reason enough to go. The food and service are both exceptional. Love. Go.

The food is always great here and they have a wonderful covered patio to dine on. It's on a quiet back street with minimal traffic.

A nice quiet evening of excellent food and excellent service. We have been to this Buckhead Restaurant a number of times and what we enjoy the most is that it is consistently super. The Veal Meatball appetizer and the Seafood extravaganza are my favorite dishes. The wait staff is super and very knowledgeable about the menu and the extensive wine... More

Everything about this experience was great. It started with the complimentary valet parking. The attendant was so considerate and accommodating. We were seated right away and the wait staff was very knowledgeable. They suggested the goat cheese appetizer and they were not wrong. My main entree was perfect for a cold evening. It was a pasta dish with short ribs... More

I love Portofino. It is my absolute favorite restaurant in Atlanta. The ambiance is sophisticated yet comfortable and casual. The wait staff is friendly and efficient and the food is second to none. They always have regional specials that are creative and delicious and the quality of the food is outstanding. This is hands down the best Italian restaurant in... More

We love coming into Buckhead to eat at Portofino, and always bring friends. The kitchen is fantastic, and the menu changes are always interesting. Really enjoyable wine list, affordable food, and pleasing clientele. The fact that it is owner operated is a big plus.

First visit was apps at the bar. Spaghetti Squash dish was excellent, mussels were fantastic, octopus needed more char and bartender was great. Second time, there were six of us and we had the same great apps but we felt they were rushing us as food was served whilst eating apps, which, I feel is rude! Waiter was slow and... More

Sure ,they have great fish choices, good antipasto and Caprese but the reason you're going Italian is for the PASTA. Well, you won't be disappointed and most entrees only about $21-24 dollars.Lamb ragu over penne pasta, veal meatballs, puttanesca sauce, gnocchi . Mangia !! Plus.. management let's you bring your own bottles for a $20 each corkage fee while also furnishing your... More
