Popped into Rays for a quick lunch. Was disappointed that they only serve sushi from 5pm and it was only 1pm. Sat at the bar which was fun! Ordered the brussel sprouts and tuna tataki and caesar salad which was all really yummy!! Food came quick and was hot and very morris! Service was superb! Will definitely return!

On New Year's Eve, we decided to eat dinner at Ray's in the City. This was a great atmosphere and the experience was good. It was quite crowded as you can imagine but things were handled efficiently My husband and I shared a HUGE Tomahawk steak which was cut into strips and cut perfectly for sharing. We added on a delicious side of lump crab and asparagus. For dessert, my husband practically drooled over their signature praline basket and I had the blueberry cobbler warm butter cake confection. We paired our entire meal with a wonderful cabernet, and iced tea (southern table wine of the south :) We will definitely be back to try the other delicious fare.

I have eaten here only during peak market nights so this comes with a caveat....expect to wait to be seated despite a reservation, expect to wait for your server who was patient and perky, expect to wait for your beverages, expect to wait for your meal...well you get the idea. Good food/good drinks/manager stopped by to extend thanks for being patient.

We were seated at a table for two; seating is "cozy" (i.e., crowded). Our neighbors started a conversation with us and encouraged us to order our entire prix fixe menu at once in order to speed up service; we thought this a good idea, as it took a long time to get our initial drinks. I ordered two mixed drinks (Manhattans) with my dinner; they were served with different garnishes and had slightly different tastes. How does this happen with a "basic" cocktail (that cost $16.50)? We got our food in a somewhat timely manner. The food was good, but not worth $90 per person. I understand that Valentine's Day allows restaurants to charge more for their food, but expect a better overall experience.

Chains typically get a bad rap for not being true to the original. This proves that point. This location is broken down to two separate eating areas, a dining room to the left of the hostess table and to the right. To the right they have local entertainment. Tough I indicated I wanted to sit on the right we were sat on the left. After ordering we received water and our drinks. The waiter was the spotlight of that dining experience. The food however was not as memorable. With three people at our table we had a selection of entrees from their seafood menu. The food was small in portion and lacked the care we get from attending the other locations of this chained restaurant. My seafood was prepared just okay as it needed additional seasoning. For dessert we ordered creme brulee. Unfortunately the dessert was pre-prepared and not prepared on site. Come if you are hungry, don't come if you want to be satisfied.

First, the good news: the food was excellent except for the fillet migon which was perfectly cooked but tough and grisly. The oysters, shrimp cocktail, lobster, and salmon were delicious. Now, the bad news: our server was apparently undertrained and incompetent. To begin with, I don’t see the point in requiring a $25 deposit to hold a reservation without canceling 24 hours in advance. We were there on a Friday night and there were plenty of open tables so it is not like they would turn away customers if we failed to cancel or show up. We were seated promptly by a rather indifferent hostess. We immediately noticed that the restaurant doesn’t take its own dress code seriously unless business casual now means shorts, ball caps, tennis shoes, and tee shirts. Our server Dwayne was unable to advise us on which oysters were available that night so another server stepped in. Dwayne also failed to tell us about the specials and we only learned of them from overhearing another server at the next table later on. There were bread plates on the table, but no bread was provided until mid-way through our meal. We ordered two appetizers but only one was delivered, my wife’s oysters which did not come with a fork. Our server walked by several times and could see if he bothered that only my wife had hers. Only after I complained later did I get my shrimp cocktail with the excuse it was delivered to another table – really? I ordered a second beer which took almost 10 minutes to arrive and without a fresh glass. Our entrees then arrived, surf and turf ($60) and salmon ($38). The lobster was excellent but the filet migon was tough and my salmon was good but ordinary. The server finally brought bread for the table but it was stale and cold. When we were done, the server cleared only half the dirty dishes and returned much later to clear more, but still left a dirty knife. We were never asked if we liked our meals and were not offered desert. I would have told all of this to a manager, but one never came to our table and we never saw one come through the dining room. This was to be a special night for us as we were celebrating a birthday, but we left with a bad taste in our mouths and a much lighter wallet.

We were looking to splurge for our first night on the town and Ray's did not disappoint! We did make reservations a week prior to our arrival because of the holiday weekend and several other activities happening in the area (if you don't cancel with at least 24 hours notice or your party is a no show you will be charged $25 per person.) It was located right next door to our hotel so we sauntered over after refreshing ourselves from a big day of traveling and made our reservation with plenty of time. The service was outstanding and the seafood was so very fresh and cooked to perfection. The wine list was very extensive and has something for everyone. This was one of our best and most memorable meals ever!

I’ve always had a wonderful experience at Rays in the City, but it was a pleasure to have Phil as our server for dinner. Phil was patient in answering all our questions about the menu, he was super efficient and overall made our experience very enjoyable. Thank you for treating us special for our night out!!!

Gotta be honest.. I was expecting much more from my visit. We (four of us) chose this restaurant due to its proximity to our hotels this past week. I showed up early with one of my colleagues to have a drink at the bar. The bar is very nice with a good selection. When I arrived, all the bar stools were taken so I stood near the bar behind some of the customers waiting to be served. And I waited, and waited and waited. A good long time (fifteen minutes - I could have said something, but I wanted to see how long it could go). Eventually, some bar stools opened up and I was able to sit and I was served immediately. Service at the bar was good after that. I had 7:30 p.m. reservations for the main dining room. I checked in with the restaurant at 7:20 and they told me that they had no tables and I should have checked in earlier. I ended up getting my table at 7:45 which isn't terrible, but (again) what is the point of a reservation if they aren't going to follow it? They gave us a table at the Bar, which wasn't what I had requested, but was just fine. The TVs were on and Monday Night Football was playing, so no loss. As for the food: We all ordered very similar dinners: wedge salads and petit filets. The wedge salads were drowned in dressing. Two of my party asked for the salad dressing to be on the side and it was not done that way (it was drenched on the salad). As for the steaks, they were cooked to temperature and they were fine. However, one of my party and I got a side of blackened shrimp with the filet and they were not done well at all. They were rubbery and the blackened seasoning was underwhelming, at best. For such a highly rated steakhouse in downtown Atlanta, I was expecting a lot more from what I got. TBH, I won't be returning for a second trip.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful night celebrating his birthday! Our server Phil was very knowledgeable and we loved everything he recommended! The lobster bisque was super creamy and delicious, and we loved the crab cakes as well! Oh and don’t get me started on the lemon butter cake! 10/10 would recommend. Finished the whole meal off with a lavender oil hot towel. So refreshing and a beautiful touch!

Finally had a chance to visit and they didn't disappoint. The specials are really great deals. The shrimp 🍤 cocktail is out of this world. The shrimp and calamari was so much we were able to share with three adults. The surf and turf was excellent! The kids had the salmon and said it was good. The service was excellent. They have a military discount too. Great experience and I recommend if you're in the downtown Atlanta area.

Pros The environment is okay The service is also okay Good selection of wines The mussels as an appetizer is vast and good Cons Main dishes are not that special for the prices . A “Faroe island” salmon in 40 and a fish was 40 on the menu and they charged 50. Very expensive for what you get. More than $400 usd for 2 persons for a dinner with wine and dessert

We had a work dinner here in mid December after our original plans fell through. The service was excellent (there is a dress code requiring men to wear sports coats so be prepared) and the food ranging from appetizers to entrees and dessert was tasty. The only complaints that we had related to the wine list (very marked up price wise) and the corkage fee. We read on line that there was no corkage fee and this was one of the primary reasons for us to choose this restaurant. We discovered however that there was a $25 fee per bottle and that we supposedly had not looked at their official website. This was a bit frustrating but given the quality of the wines that we brought relative to the high prices on their wine list (which is excellent nevertheless), we were happy to pay this fee.

After reading all the reviews I was super excited however I left a little disappointed. We order the hot sampler for two and they left off our crab cakes. Brought it to the attention of our server and he said that's the $85 appetizer not the $40 one we got...however the menu clearly listed that the $40 sampler included crab cakes. We were not offered water or bread, we had no problem paying for anything but the server just brushed over us. I had the scallop risotto. Scallops were perfectly cooked but the risotto was a but stiff and dry, not creamy & moist. My date had the porter house steak, he ordered medium it came well done but he ate it regardless. The bill was $318.00 Not sure I'll return again due to service.

We almost did not eat here, since it was not listed anywhere in the top places to eat on trip advisor. My friend insisted we at least have a drink and check it out. It was packed. The market is next door and the market was holding an event. We had to have of Our temps checked, we put our name down on waiting list. Menu looked good so we stayed. With the restaurant being full as they could be with COVID, our server was friendly, took her time explaining the questions we had. I had the grouper, which was cooked perfectly, and seasoned just right. For the price you also had a side dish. Rare to find these days, and they were happy to substitute the vegetable that came with the fish. My friend had the NY and crab legs, and green beans. It was way too much food. Crab was delicious. I did not try the steak. I was very impressed with this place, and went back the next day for lunch / happy hour. Had the Rockefeller, that was great. The side dish of lobster risotto , creamy, great flavor, did not have and bites of lobster that I noticed, but shared. She wold crab soup, yum.
