Sotto Sotto pulled out the red carpet for my dad's 70th! It was a beautiful Sunday early evening and we got seated on their patio and they opened up the roof to the sky. With the sun already setting, it was directly beating down on...us just a gentle warmth in the distance. Our team to handle our large party was phenomenal and treated my dad so well. The food.. WOW! The food among all of us was incredible! My personal favorite was the pappardelle al sugo d’anatra (Duck rago) which was amazing! The staff cut up his cake and gave a wonderful send off to end an amazing weekend! Thank you all it was a fantastic time!More
Two of us ate at the bar (no tables on Saturday without a reservation due to demand).Everyone was very helpful and as I have developed my caesar salad recipe over the years, they had a delicious one. I might have put a little more anchovy...tase in the dressing, but that's just me.
It's good to know that you can order small plates of your main course; we both had the risotto. I had the mushroom and my friend had the caramel glazed and they were both delicious!More
Almost all of the waiters and support staff had their masks down around their chin and my waiter took hers off about 10 mins into my arrival. And she even sounded like she had a cold. The food was decent but if a place is...run with this much disrespect for the community and patrons health then it is not worth it.More
Sotto Sotto in bustling Inman Park provided the perfect food, service and ambience, as well as a nice dose of festiveness for a dinner earlier this week. My companion and I both ordered the Caesar Salad and Lasagnette Alla Bolognese, with my entrée based on...her recommendation.
Both the Caesar Salad and Lasagnette, unusually and creatively presented, were super delicious. In the attractive and comfortable space to which holiday lights had been added, the food and the vibe hit the spot. Moreover, service was at the ready when needed.
Sotto Sotto and La Grotta are my two favorite destinations for Italy in Atlanta.More
Had a business dinner for 8. They accommodated changes for the 8 members; waitress was well mannered and supportive. Liked all of her suggestions. The Veal mohawk steak was outstanding and the pappardelle with duck ragu = excellent.
The fresh salad was enough for 5...to sample. Then the desserts put it over the top.
Nice place, sat in courtyard. Very, very nice. Best post COVID dinner out.More
I was looking forward to celebrating a friends birthday here, but the staff ruined the occasion. We were one of the only tables with people of color. Waiters (all white) gave us dirty looks when passing us. Although the food was good, our waiter made...paying for the meal much more difficult than it needed to be. As a group of friends, we wanted to split our checks so that we each paid for the specific items we ordered. He did not understand that and talked about how usually one person pays the check with a credit card. He said that it was not possible to split bills on the sale system they used.Instead of splitting the check like we asked or making any effort towards doing so, he kept walking back and forth to the table, never bringing back any reasonable solutions . He also insinuated that we were the ones being unreasonable and that we should just have one person pay the bill. We ended up having to call over the manager, who did not offer any assistance whatsoever, and wasn’t clearly in a managerial position, stating that he was both the owner and head chef, but could not give us any help. In the end, we each had to calculate our own totals from the main bill and have the waiter manually charge our cards. He was unhelpful through this whole process. He also made several backhanded comments that I don’t believe he would have made if we were all white and wealthy like most of the people at Sotto Sotto. Also, we brought our own specialized cake for the birthday and they tried to charge us a cake fee for keeping it in the kitchen while we ate. This is keeping in mind that when we arrived they offered to take the cake without mentioning that they would charge us for keeping the cake in the kitchen while we ate our meal. Overall, I would not come here again and I would not recommend it for any person of color because you will not feel welcomed in this environment; you will be treated differently to white customers. Please spend your hard earned money elsewhere.More
We picked this restaurant for a special meal, knowing we could sit outside to dine. When entering the restaurant were surprised to find staff congregating by hostess. Noone was wearing a mask. While we expected to be maskless while dining, we expected staff to be...masked, especially inside. No Covid protocol seemed to be in place.
The food was lovely, the service mediocre.More
Very attentive service however prices seemed very high, portion (in particular appetizers) were very small. The pastas were good but nothing unique or outstanding. Too many other great restaurants to try so would not return here
I am giving the food 4 stars!! Everything was really good! We had tuna carpaccio, muscles, beef carpaccio, risotto mantecato, Michelangelo Buonarroti (very rich), tuna steak special (over cooked 1st time out). Dessert we had the chocolate soup OMG!! Also Affogato Completo!!!!!
Service on the other...hand 2 stars... we felt very rushed and honestly you don't impress me when you don't write your orders down. He didn't say anything about being a birthday. When we wanted to pace ourselves he made the comment that his chef is not going to like that and he needed the whole order... is his chef really like that or did he just want to turn our table?More
We ate in the patio which was warm enough in April. The wine was excellent!
We shared an insalata verde. Very good. I had the michaelangelo ravioli which was seasoned with sage. The lasagnetti and the “Strangle the priest” pasta were red sauce pastas, both...excellent.
Excellent service and food in a lovely setting.More
Called for a reservations and were told only 6 pm was available and only seating was available upstairs at neighbor restaurant Fritti but they would give us the Sotto Sotto menu?! We called to say we were running 30 minutes late and they said fine....When we arrived they said they could seat us inside at Sotto Sotto. It was freezing inside as they had the air conditioning cranked up, I would have planned better and brought a sweater had they communicated the change in seating and we would be inside vs. outdoors. Our waiter was very snarky, he came to our table and stood in such a weird position so each time we communicated with him we had to turn around and crank our heads. Food was mediocre. Our server kept referring to the heirloom tomatoes that the chef was using so I ordered dishes to enjoy that but neither show-cased fresh tomatoes. Also the pasta was terrible, could have bought better at the grocery store. The atmosphere is pleasant enough but still lacking. They did a nice job spacing tables due to COVID restrictions. Don’t make a special trip here but given there are few nice restaurants in Atlanta this may be one in the area that gets frequented due to lack of choices.More
Nice atmosphere, good food. Tables for 2 are very close to one another, so you will hear the conversation of the tables on either side of you. Be prepared. Service is good. Food is good too. Atmosphere is nice. You won’t be disappointed, but you...may not be wowed. Overall, it’s a nice dining experience.More
