I’ve had the pleasure of eating at Arepa Mia at least a dozen times! I was recently in Atlanta for a 5-day visit, and I ate there every single day! Not only does Arepa Mia have a huge and varied selection, but every single item...is incredibly savory and mouth-watering! My favorite is the Arepa Sureña which is filled with grilled chicken, Thai chili sauce, avocado, lettuce and tomato. The yuca fries are amazing, and the Guava Empanada stuffed with fig jam, cream cheese, topped with powdered sugar is absolutely scrumptious!! ...and not a bad way to finish your meal with!! Be prepared to leave with a full stomach! I can’t wait to visit again! Just writing this review is making me hungry!! Thank you Lis and Angie for your time and dedication to your restaurant! 💕More

We found this little eatery in a corner of the Sweet Auburn Curb Market and started by ordering a couple of spicy beef empanadas. They were so delicious that we ordered the Pescado arepa which was fabulous - super tasty and fresh. You can watch...the arepas being made by hand and we loved the cilantro sauce!More

I eat at Arepa Mia at least once a week. So lucky to live in walking distance. The food is authentic as is the cheerful decor. Owner Liz watching over all and plans and actually cooks a lot of the food which is always delectable...and fresh. Arepas are naturally gluten free as they are made from corn masa and they can be filled with perfectly cooked and fresh vegetables and/or excellent pork, beef, poultry and fish. A recent oxtail soup is my current favorite and I often have a salmon arepa or platter. Even the restrooms are brightly decorated. Right-hand to Liz is Angie who can handle a long lime with perfect aplomb and still find a special smile for a regular. The folks cooking and the wait staff are very tuned to their jobs and carry them out effectively.More

The food was delicious and the service was friendly. We loved that a couple near us at our outside table had their sweet little puppy. The cornmeal cakes are so yummy. The yuca fries were a little underdone. Heads up, the food can be rather...messy, but definitely worth it.More

So, I previously submitted a review about unfair practices in terms of charging .50 cents for a brown paper bag as part of their TO-GO charges. As requested by the cashier in June, I emailed whom I'm guessing is the owner. They didn't bother to...respond the first time, and when I reached out a 2nd time two weeks later requesting a reply, they indicated that they receive a lot of emails (can't imagine why), and their response was basically supporting their .50 cents per paper bag policy. It's their choice. I choose (along with my friends, and possibly my co-workers), never to go there again.More

...a hidden charge for take-out containers...really? So, I've been stopping by this place for lunch for quite some time. The food is always pretty good, no complaint there. However, for the first time I decided to get an arepa to go. The cost was $9.50,...but the total came to around $10.89 or so. When I inquired about, what I thought was a higher than normal tax rate, the server at the counter (who has always been pleasant) suddenly turned "unpleasant" after informing me that the extra charge is not tax-related, but a charge for the takeout container, and that there's a sign on the counter indicating so...nope, there was no sign, and I feel this is unfair practice. So, I said just make it for here and give me a bag, this is the point where her attitude became somewhat unpleasant. I guess she feels no one should question this charge. I did, only because this practice should be seriously reconsidered.More

These arepas are simply delicious. We tried the pork with onions & cilantro sauce in a cornmeal bread. It was huge & delicious. We also got the fried yucca chips & the fried plantains chips. We got a variety of sauces also for dipping. My...friend loved the cream sauce but I loved them plain. Go by and have a taste.More

I love the food here. The taste of the arepas is fresh, the nata is amazing, and the fillings and serving sizes are very generous. The service is super friendly and I love the fact the seating is shared and open cafeteria-style. Definitely check it...out if you’re in downtown!More
