We had a magical experience this past Friday evening sitting at the Chef's table for a 7 course tasting menu + wine pairing. Although we are foodies we really hadn't done anything quite this extravagant and I was a little hesitant given the price and requirement to guarantee the reservation (no cancelations) with a credit card. I'm SOooo glad I did. My high expectations were exceeded. It was totally worth it and one of the highlights of our trip. Every dish was exquisite and the wine pairings were perfect. Each dish was an explosion of flavors, matched by the presentation.

From the moment we entered until we left we were treated like royalty. Mara and Jevgenija (Chef) were friendly, respectful, fun and interesting people who take PRIDE in the whole event and facility. Our room and the grounds were beautiful, and comfortable. As for the 7 course tasting dinner (with wine pairing), we have traveled quite a lot and had tasting menu dinners before BUT this was completely over the top. The taste, presentation, and wine pairing of each course was NOT TO BE MATCHED. We will return and recommend the INN and dinner to everyone who enjoys fine dining. Oh - the morning beakfast was a true treat also. Keith and Nancy

After five months of self-quarantining the time had come to venture out on our first ‘weekend’ trip. For our first foray into the ‘new’ normal we chose to stay at the Lincoln Inn in Woodstock, VT and were not disappointed in our choice. Mara and Jevegnia were our hosts for the weekend and they truly made it a special occasion for us! The Inn had just reopened (we were their second guests since they closed back in March) and they totally embraced all of the COVID Vermont guidelines to the point where we never felt ‘threatened’, yet always felt comfortable. Anyone who has had the pleasure of staying at the Inn will be happy to know that Mara and Jevegnia have taken advantage of the ‘closing period’ to upgrade several of their room amenities, while still keeping in concert with the states safety guidelines. And, of course, the food…we were the first ones to have the pleasure of dining with Chef Jevegnia since they closed and we can honestly and wholeheartedly say that all of the accolades that her food has received over the years from distinguished food critics did not suffer one iota from the closure. We enjoyed the seven course chef’s table menu with wine pairing and right off the bat were wowed with the very first ‘artistic creation’….and that is how you would have to describe it….a beautiful treat for the eyes! And then, my goodness, our taste buds were treated to seven flawlessly created and presented gastronomic pleasures! We were never ones to photograph food dishes, but since we were the only ones dining, we did…..and will always have our photo’s as inspirations for what one can achieve when they truly love their vocation! Thank you Jevegnia for that wonderful dining experience! The Inn is easy to find, with a long expanse of lawn leading down to the babbling creek and the covered bridge is within a two minute walk. A great place to have that afternoon drink (social distancing of course) and relive the days journeys exploring many other covered bridges, historical sites and the bucolic Woodstock main street and shops. We cannot wait to return for another culinary treat, but also, with hopes that more normalcy has returned in all our lives to enjoy the wonderful bar, library and dining room fireplaces….and hopefully many guests to enjoy conversations with! If you are ready to ‘get out there’….we happily recommend the Lincoln Inn to you! You will be safe and well cared for. Thanks Mara and Jevegnia….we will return! Attachments area

We spent a few days in Vermont and the highlight was the terrific dinner at Lincoln Inn. The food was quite sophisticated, interesting mixtures of flavors and texture, beautifully plated, well timed so even a seven course meal did not take forever . The Maitre d’ explained each course and we enjoyed talking to the chef at the end of the meal. Maybe we will return with a group of friends, take over the inn and Organize a foodie orgy

What a wonderful meal and evening at The Lincoln Inn & Restaurant at the Covered Bridge. We have been meaning to try the inn for a few years now, and now can't wait to go back (we made reservations for our next visit before we even left!). The inn property is charming and situated in a very scenic spot along the picturesque river. We have been very reluctant to dine out (especially indoors) in the wake of the pandemic but the restaurant has done an excellent job distancing the tables and introducing fresh air to the dining room. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the food - its taste, creativity and presentation. The chef's tasting is a perfectly sized seven-course meal that ended for us on a wonderful note of dark chocolate; always a good place to end. Mara served as the ambassador for our evening, introducing each course carefully, sharing insights on the chef's preparation, and for folks who added the wine tasting, explaining the origin of the wine and how it pairs with the food course. We had the pleasure also of meeting Chef Saramova as our evening drew to a close. We truly could not thank her enough; her talent and passion for food meant a perfect evening for us.

Proprietor Mara Mehlman and Chef Jevgenija Saromova have created a magical dining experience at the Lincoln Inn and Restaurant. The tasting menu had 7 courses, each consisting of the freshest and best ingredients, sourced from all over the world, expertly prepared and served with creativity without pretense, and perfectly paired with unique wines from smaller US and international vineyards. Our dinner was pure culinary heaven, served in a COVID-safe private outdoor enclosure on the back porch of the Inn. A truly memorable experience at reasonable cost, and totally unexpected for this rural area in central Vermont. A perfect setting for a special occasion. I would rate this restaurant 10 stars if I could. Reservations are required.

When I was booking The Lincoln Inn Restaurant for my anniversary I had no idea what I was getting myself into. My Husband and I have some food allergies that the chef catered to through every course which we were not expecting. The restaurant is more than just a place to eat, it is a dining experience that starts the second you walk through the door. Mara is so welcoming and is the perfect guide on your culinary journey. The food and wine pairings are truly some of the best my husband and I have ever had. We have dined at some of the best restaurants in the nation and Lincoln Inn Restaurant is one of the best. The thoughtfulness and beauty that Chef puts into every spectacular bite of food is reason enough to drive the 8 hours it took us to get there. After we finished the last plate I knew it was not our last bite and that we will be returning time and time again. We can't wait for our next adventure with Mara and Chef!

My husband and I recently had our first meal here (tasting menu). It was amazing from beginning to end. The service was great, knowledgeable and professional but also personable and fun. The wine list was huge but we were given excellent recommendations and really enjoyed the wines. The food was way beyond our expectations!! We often find that tasting menus can start off really strong but the later courses can feel/taste like an after thought. Definitely not the case here - it was hard to pick a favorite course as all were interesting and unique but all extremely well executed. It was also really nice to see local ingredients mixed with ingredients from elsewhere (like fish and beef from japan) put together so well. Lastly, we appreciated that the chef came out and said hi and spent time talking to every table, great to here her story! Thank you so much for having us! We hope to be back for sure!

A group of friends attended a dinner at the Lincoln Inn in early October. The evening was a great success and the 7 course dinner served by the Chef was outstanding. Each dish was like a piece of artwork!

My wife and I dined here at the end of August. We were pleasantly surprised to find separately enclosed areas set up on the porch complete with a heater and lights. Mara was a great hostess and made us feel at home. The seven course tasting menu did not disappoint. We were surprised to find food of this sophistication and quality outside of a small town in Vermont. The chef put a lot of work into each course and obviously takes a lot of pride in addtion to enjoyment into the meals. Each course was well done and delicious. Jevgenija came out after the service and shared that she had previously worked in Europe, most recently at a Michelin starred restaurant. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Everything gets an A+. The ambience, the theatrical announcements for each course, but especially the food. Each dish had at least 7 or 8 elements, and there were 7 courses. Not one bite was anything other than miraculous. We drove 4 1/2 hours each way for this meal. I'd do it again tomorrow if I could get a reservation. Just one thing. It AIN'T cheap. With wine pairings and an espresso afterward, each of us paid more than $330. Worth every penny!

The 7 course tasting menu with wine paring was the most exquisite food experience I have ever had! The night begins with a warm welcome from host Mara making you feel right right at home. After having a glass of delicious Pino Noir champagne she ushers you into an enchanting room and immediately starts to take care of your every need. Each course with the perfect wine paring is announced and delivered at the right moment according to where you are with the previous course. Michelin star Chef Jevgenija is an artist, both of the palate and the presentation. She is a master of food combinations and what each taste does in your mouth. Each consecutive plate of food takes you up in levels to a crescendo of orgasmic flavor! This night if taste and texture is a must do for your bucket list.

For those of you who think Vermont is just a small state with lots of trees and taciturn inhabitants with minimal panache, allow me to disabuse you of that idea. My wife and i travel widely and explore a country through its food and wine. If you take the time to drive to Woodstock, Vermont with a reservation for dinner at the Lincoln Inn at the covered bridge you will be rewarded with one of the most exceptional meals available in the world. The tasting menu has everything: complexity, ingenuity, imagination, beauty and freshness. The Wagu Beef is overnighted in from Japan while the foie gras is overnighted from France. But every plate is a perfection of taste and texture and their wine selections complement all of their food. It was a pleasure and we will certainly return,

If you want to experience this fabulous dinning experience plan early. Reservations are a must and they go early. The is carefully planned and selected menu was a group of unique brilliant combinations of local ingredients. Jevgenija Saromova is the wonderful Chef’s name but “Chef” is great nickname. She is Michelin Star trained and it shows in everyone of multi course tasting menu she prepares. Her partner is Mara Mehlman. She runs the front of the house and does a enthusiastic introduction to each course and the wine paring that are also carefully chosen to complement. The meal was a culinary experience. Mara ‘s natural charm added to the evening.

My wife has eaten there several times and each time we loved the food and the overall experience. This summer we went with our son who went to culinary school and we again had a great dinner. My son said it was one of the best meals he ever had. The dinner was seven courses and my wife cannot eat certain foods which the chef accommodated her while still serving the nearly the same dishes that my son and I had. The service is outstanding. Also, the chef comes out at the end of the meal to meet with all the guests
