Wonderful Terrace overlooking the lake, serving contemporary Andalucian cuisine with a focus on local produce, organic wherever possible, vegetarian choices, home made desserts and a wine list filled with regional and other Spanish wines. Daily Specials board with salads, fresh fish and barbecued meats in summer, in winter braised and roasted meats and locally caught game. Lunch 12.30-16.30 and dinner 18.00-22.30 as well as tapas drinks and cakes served all day from 11.am
We were on the way to see the castle at Zahara de la Sierra and it was about lunch time. We stopped in the entrance of the city and walk a short distance trying to find a place to eat. We came across this restaurant...and decided to have lunch there even not knowing anything about it. Smartest decision in a long time. The ambience is perfect for a couple but it will fit big families or else. We asked for the Lamb Leg a house specialty. It was sublime. I can certainly say it was the best I have in my whole life and, you see, I'm over 60. The whole meal was quite good and the price quite fair. It deserves a second trip there.More
We ate one evening at Al Lago and were impressed with the local menu that had been given an international twist. The restaurant was busy and had a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Tops marks for the passion fruit sorbet!
The food was excellent, as was the choice and 2/3’s of the service. Why 2/3’s? We had booked, but when we arrived we were pointed to an unreserved table near the door. We asked to move to a more desirable unreserved spot (which was accommodated)...but got the feeling from this individual that we just didn’t matter and it was all a bit of a chore. The other staff were very accommodating and pleasant. Maybe we caught someone on a bad day? The restaurant is conveniently located on the outskirts of the delightful village, which made parking much easier.More
Lovely edge of the village boutique hotel and restaurant, spacious shaded terrace overlooking the lake and hills, great food and service, (really great food)...easy to over order from the tapas menu but only as the plates were so generous, it really was a treat, most...memorably the foie gras pate served with slices of toasted baguette, leaves, quince paste and wine soaked raisins, a mixed tapas plate and a vegetable tempura. Really good value for money and a real treat.More
Out on the terrace overlooking the lake, a nice lunch after a walk up Coros Peak, waiting staff seemed to be fluent in more than 7 languages, friendly efficient service and delicious freshly prepared food.
We had an evening meal and enjoyed our starters if roasted vegetables with goats cheese and the pate.
My main course of pigs cheek in wine was lovely but the bouillabaisse was too salty.

So sorry your bouillabaisse was salty, if you had let us know at the time we could have offered you another one. Salt is such a subjective taste.
So glad you enjoyed the rest of your meal however and rest assured the salt was not...More
Sat outside and we’re amazed at the quality of food and attention - real deal modern Spanish provided in charming setting and not a tourist rip off Iike the majority of places in the center of town - truly don’t miss it if u r...in the area. A bit of a gem off the beaten path.More
We were looking for a light lunch, not the full menu del dia, and whilst we were therefore not allowed to sit in the covered dining area overlooking the lake we did get a table outside and in the shade. Food was fresh and portions...of a good size. Service was efficient and fast. Overall I would recommend and we would visit again.More
