Last year (2022) was better

We had high expectations due to a wonderful experience last year. First, the positive. The food was, as always, excellent. The service was satisfactory. We were disappointed a bit with the menu offering (sunmer 2023). It seemed less and confusingly placed all over the menu....The wonderful deserts disappeared all-together. Also, it seems that they no longer produce/promote a wonderful olive oil they had last year. There was a novelty, 5 seasonal foods, but it does not replace the old offering I’d say.More

Perfect restaurant in Izola

Restaurant advised by lonely planet guide for sea food meals. When I saw Michelin and Gault&Millau references, I was worried about the price. In fact, the meals with my family were excellent (thuna, octopus, fish). The white wine and the desserts too. Moreover, the server...was sympatic ans good adviser. Thanks to the Chief !!More

Amazing

Went with my family. Got a few reccomendations before, but I am always a bit skeptical. Location is right next to the sea, we sat outdoors in the afternoon when it was supposed to be hot, but the terrace is nicely done with shade and...everything. The setting is cozy and the tables are made professionally. 10/10 We had an amazing waiter who recommended us the type of food and wine we should try and order- AND it was not at all intrusive ( yes, sometimes when you go to a restaurant they force you with menus and everything). It was presented to us so profesionally and still with a room for us to say " no " if we would not want it. For three hours that we were there our waiter did not for a second lose his eye on any of his tables. The other ones were amazing too, but we had the most interaction with ours. Truly amazing and SO nice, professional and with a human touch. We did not feel like just some customers. And last but not least, the food and wine. Wow. We tried a little bit of everything ( spaghetti with gamberi, polenta with crab cream, bakala, mushrooms with gamberi(?), creme brulee)... I dont remember everything but those are the foods we regularly eat (polenta, gamberi,truffles,...) and it was more than PERFECT. Extraordinary. At the end of the night you are full and really happy. ❤️ ( Opinion of my mother matters even more and she could not stop talking about everything). The price of everything for three persons was lower than we expected and so reasonable. We will be back for our special occasions everytime we can. Tip the waiters good, they really deserve it ❤️More

Excellent sea food

Food and ambient was excellent Extremely nice staff, maybe a bit slow but otherwise great. If you want great sea food you need to visit this place.

Worth a visit but service could be vary based on their language skills.

We visited the restaurant twice this month. The first time the waiter paid special attention as we had a 4 course meal with wine. He did an excellent job as well as he spoke good English. The 2nd time was no as good as the...waiter did not speak good English and the presentation was not as good. The food was just as good as we had the same thing but the service was not up to the quality of the first time.More

High level of service and food

Been her before, but the place just got better in every way. The sitting near see is nice all around, every good thing starts with the service. Impeccable, friendly waiters started with nice Bjana rose and. Food: we decided for 4 course menu and the...suggestion from the staff was spot on. Wild asparagus soup and a cold mix of octopus, bakala and fish was perfect start. Hard to choose better dish. Pasta for second dish was nice following and paired great with Ferjančič pinela-freshness in a glass ( we made it two). Wine list is all in all really good, with typical sorts from Slovenian cost, orange edition and also good selection of foreign wines. For main see base with potatoes and vegetables from oven. Everything we wanted from a fish on the plate. Perhaps biggest surprise came from desserts- asparagus mousse and lemon-vanilla cake. First one light, cake full of flavor. All in all great service, spot on food and definitely place to visit again soon.More

the winner

On an unseasonably hot October day we stopped at the Marina for lunch. It seems that Izola is the main fishing port on the Slovenian coast. We were warmly welcomed and introduced to the delicacies on the menu. There were many other diners enjoying the...sunny terrace with glimpses of the harbour and the old town centre. We decided to go for cream soup with shrimps and lobster, which was very tasty. Then, although the fish dihes looked good, we didn't have huge appetites so we opted for desserts. Both the chocolate cake and the chocolate soufflé were extremely delicious and served in large portions, so we didn't leave hungry and the bill was quite light too! The Michelin star is not surprising for such good food. Recommended.More

Great restaurant

Everything about this restaurant was great! We visited twice and both experiences were just awesome! The food was delicious and staff was friendly and very helpful when deciding what to get. It was a bit more expensive but it is Michelin restaurant after all.

Perfect Value

One of the best restaurants in town. We were extremely pleased with waiters. An excellent service with attention to customers’ needs! Eventually we came back twice during our stay, fish and seafood were great! Thank you

Next level

It was our best experience so far on the slovenian coast..the day before we had dinner at piran and were very disappointed with the seafood and the restaurant. In this restaurant, we got what we expected from quality to service...we recommend it

Surprisingly tasteful

Trully a wonderful restaurant. All the dishes were amazing in taste as well as in presentation and a member of staff cleaned the fish to perfection. The staff was attentive and friendly, although it seems they were a bit understaffed as, at points, we had...to wait longer than usual. Well worth the visit, if you are nearby and looking for a place to go, this is definitely it!More

Will return

Our experience was great. The staff is super nice and professional, the service attentive and the food was out of this world. We all agreed that each individual plate was one of the best dishes we ever had. Reservation needed.

Prior bookings needed for Michelin Plate awarded restaurant!

It was our first time having a meal in Marina Restaurant. Service was very professional and pleasant. We were very excited with excellent food. Reasonable prices.

No card payment

We discovered only when they brought the bill that paying by card is not allowed . We had to go to look for a bank to do cash withdrawal. In 2021 is absurd !!!
