What a wonderful experience! The restaurant is in the garden of a former royal palace surrounded by beautiful trees and was actually the original garden greenhouse. We had one of our best restaurant meals ever! Starters are huge but we had ordered two! The Princes Platter of cured and smoked meats and cheeses was delicious and the Bruscetta with smoked salmon totally mouthwatering! For mains we had Princess Calamari ( stuffed with mozzarella and prawns) and Sous vide veal ribs ( but bone free! ). Both huge and both outrageously delicious! Topped off with a bottle of Montenegran red from Ulsinj. The host was attentive and knowledgeable and treated the wine like his child! A true highlight of any holiday we’ve ever had! Very tasty

I had the stuffed squid (apologies for the photo quality) and a glass of the local white wine. They were both delicious! The staff are very friendly and spoke good English. We visited in the off season and the restaurant was empty when we arrived but trusted in the reviews and we're pleasantly surprised.

A hidden gem in the centre of Bar

The restaurant is located around 20m off the promenade right next to King Nikola’s Palace. We got a table in the garden without a reservation which would probably not be possible in high season. The nicely lit garden setting and relaxing jazz playing in the background complimented the super fresh Sea-bass and Dorado and fine local wine which we enjoyed after the tasty complimentary fish pate. The service was excellent and the waiters removed all the bones from the fish after showing us the perfectly cooked specimens. Will definitely visit again.

WANNA Experience here. A surprise

We stoped at the first restaurant that we found. We didn´t look the previous review here on in other webpages. It was a superise, the place is very cozy, and elegant also. The food was really AMAZING, everything was special. The wine choosed by Mr. Luka, his recommendation and the starters from the house is a amazing detail (we aprecciate it so so so much). The price are better than perfect. This is a placer where the price are even lower to the quality received. You will have a surprise when you are going to pay, it will be less than any other place with this quality. We will come back again to THIS place the next time in MNE Mr. Luka, you are doing perfect. Continue like now.

Not for a casual dinner

We came at 9.30pm on Sunday night, we had a dinner before but wanted to take a glass of wine and some snack with drink. We ordered two glasses of Chardonnay and sparkling water, but only water arrived and we need to remind waiter about wine. We waited for a squids and salad for 1 hour, and got kuwer (bread with spreads) 5min before dinner arrived. According to our experience we would definitely not come back to explore further this restaurant.

Lovely restaurant in Bar

5 of us went for lunch to Knjazeva Basta and we all loved it! The fish was great, fresh and very well prepared. Service stands out - kind, discreet and professional. This place feels like a quiet oasis where you can enjoy food and conversation far from the noise that is far too often a huge problem in restaurants on Montenegrin coast. Thumbs up for the staff for keeping this place so special! We will go there again very soon and will be happy to repeat the experience!

Fine dining!

Came to Bar to see the sites on a Sunday, most things were closed. We were hungry for lunch and found Knjazeva Basta, what a great find! Luka our server made awesome recommendations, so we indulged. This restaurant is fine dining at it's best. We had the Caprese to start, then the fish plate for 2. There was so much great food we couldn't eat it all. They have a really nice wine list with wines from all around the region. We would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for great food with impeccable service. Enjoy!

Magic for two

A truly special place for a candlelit dinner for couples that you won't easily forget! We ate tartare and tuna and salmon fillets, the waiter Luka was very kind and helpful! A place that remains in the heart!

Ideal lunch for a family with a child

Wonderful restaurant! A very beautiful building, you feel like you are in another era. We sat at a table on the terrace, it was very cozy. The service is great. Prices are lower than we expected. There is a high chair, swing and slide for kids. They brought us a compliment - a bowl of soup for the child. Absolutely everything was delicious, but what delighted us most was the bread - fresh from the oven, with a honey aftertaste! We'll be back again 100%

A hidden gem

This place is a hidden gem, we came here on our last night in Bar. We ordered the seafood platter for 2. The waiter allowed us to change the potato for veg and still bought out potato for me. All the food was amazing, his knowledge of wine was fantastic and recommended a great rosé. He also gave us a complimentry fish pate and bread for starters, then a brandy for dessert. If you visit Bar come to this restaurant you won't be disappointed.

Excellent plus restaurant

The hotel recommended this restaurant for dinner. The service and food were exceptional and I had dinner there two evenings. Stephan was one of the waiters who was very friendly and took care of my ever need. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Nice place to call it a day

My wife and I visited this restaurant to summarize our trip to Montenegro. Waiters had good manners and we're quite nice to us. Steak was very nice and fine wine accompanied it very well. I would recommend this place for couples and those people who want to share a nice meal in the cozy atmosphere.

We were in the Bar on an excursion, stopped by by chance and were not disappointed! Great place for lunch or dinner. Excellent service! Compliments from the chef and the restaurant in the form of dessert, appetizer and digestif. We are delighted and recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Place for gourmets. For people who love life and everything connected with it. Music as an aperitif. Local wine as the flavor of the place. Delicious steak, vegetable soup of the day, tiramisu and strudel. Quiet. Cosy. Time stops. I want to come here in winter to taste the Christmas atmosphere. Excellent service. What it is? This is when it is comfortable for both guests and waiters. Compliment from the restaurant. In general, this is a place for those who like quiet cozy places without crowds to eat, drink, relax and enjoy the moment. A table reservation is required in advance, otherwise you will not get in, and rightly so, because this is a place for relaxation, not for a meal on the run. It is a restaurant as it is, not a cafe. Excellent wine list. Be sure to take the local red wine. It is beautiful.

Great experience

Had amazing dinner there: tasty local wine, delicious seafood, very good service. There was a wedding happening in the restaurant at the same time but it didn’t anyhow affect our experience or the time we had to wait for the food. Everything was swift & amazing. Also this is a historic building - it was interesting to learn more about it
