Decided to go upstairs and forego the expensive Valentines menu over the weekend. The place was packed-- never been before-- great atmosphere--food very heavy/beefy--not much for the vegetarian or salad eater-- truffled fries were great. Drinks were very good too. When the band started playing it was impossible to hold a conversation. Next time we would eat first, and just... More

Title says it all. It is expensive but delivers on the essentials. The only reason not a five star is I asked for a dry, unoaked Chardonnay and they didn't have an open bottle so offered a substitute which was OK but not what I wanted. Perhaps it's an unfair expectation but at these prices it seems they could risk... More

Had a memorable dinner on Halloween evening. Food quality and service were superb and appropriately priced for the fine restaurant this has become. The upstairs area is now open and is a lively, enjoyable scene. There is often live music and a great bar area. The downstairs restaurant is great for a special couples night out. My wife and I... Had brunch here and everything was really good- the brisket sandwich was amazingly tender and the cheese and peppers added great flavor. Shrimp and grits were also very good. Grits still had some texture, and the flavor was fabulous. The downstairs is nice, but upstairs is much more interesting- wish that had been open for brunch. Service was also great.... More

This was my first visit to Malones of Manassas. A friend and I came to the City of Manassas, First Friday with my dog and then decided to eat dinner. I asked the waitress at Malones if I could bring my dog and eat on the patio and she said “sure.” We settled on the table near the sidewalk, so... More

This restaurant is in an old church. It is a beautiful restaurant. The food is very good. Menu does change seasonally which is kind of cool. They have a great wine list. It is small so make sure you call for a reservation. They are on Open Table, but we did experience problems with reserving through this avenue. The make... More

I have dined here twice, once upstairs next downstairs. Upstairs I had the pulled pork sandwich which was exceptional, the fries were middling. It was Saturday night and a band was playing. The bar had a good selection of microbrews. My downstairs experience was excellent as well. The waiter was knowledgable and congenial without being intrusive. The wine selections are... More

I had dinner here with three other family members, who were also visiting from other parts of the country. Malones is in a lovely building, and we were seated in a quiet corner. While somewhat harried because she was serving a large rehearsal dinner group, our waitress was outgoing and pleasant. Everyone enjoyed - though didn't rave about - their... More

My husband and I were out for a date and decided to try Malones. Adding to our interest in checking the place out was the fact that a local band we were interested in was also playing there that night. The positives of our experience: I don't know the history of the old church, but I love the setting. It... More

This was our second visit to Malones and both times it was really good. Ambiance was very pleasing. The restaurant used to be a church so the interior is quite interesting. Fabulous wine list. Menu is varied ...I had a special that evening which was crab and salmon cakes. They have shared vegetable plates which is nice and we had... More
