This place has been around in some fashion since the early 1800's and it was a hoot. They were busy the night we went so service was a little slow, but the waitress apologized and the food made up for it. You can get almost...anything from salads, to sandwiches, to pizza to a main course. Loved the choices. We went on meatless Monday and plenty of vegetarian options...the eggplant parmigiana was delicious. Skip the flatbread.More

Horrible food, no manager on duty...served brandy in a rocks glass. The server was oblivious, and after spending $200 for 3 people, left irritated. Called and spoke to Joe the manager the next day, he sounded reasonable and would call me back. Contacted him again...via open table and no response. They are going downhill for a local business such a shame, as I would give kudos to them before Covid. Do not waste your money...expensive for cheap food.More

We got there during shift change, so we understand there are glitches in service. But the staff just walked right by us without making eye contact. The atmosphere is not that great. In fact, I almost wondered if we were in the wrong place. Not...gonna lie. It’s dumpy. The good - the ribs and the bread pudding were outstanding. I got the fried oysters and they were mushy. Just not that great!More

I wrote a review about my food and my unfavorable experience. The owner responded with an apology and instructions to send her my email or phone number and she was going to gift me another dinner. I sent that information to her several times but...I have not as yet heard a response. I hope that response was not just for show. Saundra JenkinsMore

Don’t get the scallops. The risotto is a creamy risotto, it’s a brick. A overly salted, dried out heavy brick. The scallops are just ok. All swimming in a pool of olive oil. One of the most unappetizing meals I’ve ever had.

Lackluster restaurant with not great food. Soup and salads were good, but entrees were not. Spaghetti Bolognase was average, Fish Taco’s came with very little fish-mainly lettuce filler, and salmon special was raw, rice undercooked and broccoli overcooked. While the waitress was friendly, water was...not filled up once. Definitely NOT worth the price.More

Family of 4 went for a Saturday brunch. The atmosphere is a cool colonial chic. Two people had French Toast Foster, which was delicious. Another person has a vegetable calzone, which was delicious. Another person had an individualized omelet, which was delicious. Staff was friendly....Service was timely. We would definitely go back again.More

We were happy to find this local gem. Many of the local restaurants were closed on Monday, but Tarrant was open and we were treated to a great seafood dinner. The service was great and attentive. If we lived in Richmond, we would make this...a regular stop.More

Nice spot for a casual meal. The food was lovely and the staff friendly. Everything was spotless, staff were wearing masks properly and we felt safe. Special mention for the gorgeous cheesecake 😋

I enjoyed the food and drinks here, however the experience was lowered because of the continued warning beginning at 8;30 that the "kitchen closes at 9!". We had 8pm reservations, and we were told it would be a few minutes before our table was ready,...so we ordered a drink at the bar, and watched as 2 very impressive desserts were being finalized there, one a strudel with ice cream and the other a brownie, looked great and we decided then we would get one. At about 8;20 we were sat, and waitress asked us what we want, and we said we would like to read the menu a little more, that is when we got the first "warning" that the "kitchen closes at9" line. We ordered and food came, all was very good, from appetizers to entree's. When we were done we wanted a dessert and was told that we probably couldn't get one as the "kitchen closes at 9!. we asked if she could ask and she came back and said it was too late. it was about 9:15 or so, with other diners still in restaurant. I find it so ridiculous that all these restaurants were closed for so long, and finally given the opportunity to reopen, and workers were out of work for so long, and once we could finally go out and enjoy a meal in a restaurant that everybody was in such a hurry to get out. Sounds like people became more comfortable not working than working. So sad, because the food was good, actually very good. I hope the owners and management read this and hopefully are unaware that they are turning down business. In a industry that is so competitive and starving for attention, it sounded like everybody was either afraid of the the kitchen staff or just in a hurry to go home. This is priced as a fine dining and their food supports it, but don't act like a franchise fast food restaurant. Our bill was $200 for 2 people, including tip for 4 drinks, apps and entres, of course, no dessert, as the "Kitchen closes at 9!!!" Ps. bartender, very courteous and funny. The gentleman from UtahMore

Yes, actually they do. There is a dining private area in the back of the Broad Street restaurant. I believe that the Three Chopt Road location has private dining areas.
