Had a great intro with our waiter but something happened that our appetizer took 30 minutes to get ordered...a neighboring table of 7 who arrived WAYYYYY Later than the 2 of us, got served their entrees before our appetizer arrived.. REALLLLLY???????? The restaurant was NOT...busy. May have been more tolerant if they were.. We were given an anniversary gift of $100.00 cash to go out to dinner wherever we chose....I wanted to go to Otooles but my husband opted for Maldinis despite less than satisfactory experiences in the past year...again, we were disappointed and left reminding ourselves why we had not been ba k here in almost 2 years...So sad...we want to support a restaurant who's owner is such a giver to the community. But our dollar is hard-earned...and we left TOTALLY feeling unvalued and resolved not to return....More
Walked in and only 3 tables had people at them and it still took almost an hour to get our food.
Waitress was horrible, she whispered and of course screwed up the order. She might be the worst waitress I have ever had....she acted bored...and obviously didn’t have any business working there. Why was she hired?
Food was average and not worth the time sitting there...and not cheap.
How does this place stay open?
Will never go back.More
Great bar items and wine list are a must when I dine Italian and Maldini's mite the bill. They have great service in smaller sized restaurant but are huge on flavors! From brick oven pizzas to home-made pasta in the stuffed shell dished and lasagna,...the home made bread and really tasty desserts it's a great place for a meal. They also have wonderfully filling antipastos, subs and paninis. Meat, seafood and vegetarian menus all available. Another " must try " restaurant on Richmond's Southside!More
We had spent a week in Richmond and had gone to some very expensive restaurants. We were looking for a quiet middle of the road comfort Italian restaurant. We got comfort and Italian, but not middle of the road! Hands down the best meal of...the week !
I ordered the rockfish special. I think I got the whole fish! I’ll be eating it for lunch for a week! Our service was impeccable and the wine? Delicious and not terribly expensive.
You gotta try it. Well worth overlooking the neighborhood and the terrible parking lot.More
months ago, we were asked to select from 3 main courses for a graduation dinner. My choice was salmon and it was delicious. The other courses were so good that I had to take most of my salmon with me. There was a wonderful caprese...appetizer followed by a tasty salad and an excellent pasta. Service was excellent and wine glasses were filled throughout the festive event.More
Wanted a restaurant close to where we were staying and we chose Maldini's.
Mike promptly seated us after a warm welcome. We ordered the red Montepulciano that Mike promoted. It was full bodied with tannins and not too dry. We shared an appetizer of calamari.... Lightly breaded with a traditional marinara sauce. They were excellent. I ordered the lasagna and spouse ordered the meat raviolis. Both were very good.
Pricing was reasonable. Nice cozy family restaurant.
Highly recommend if you are looking for a simple traditional italian meal.More
We had dinner at this restaurant with another couple and found the food to be very tasty. I had the Bucatini al pesto and my wife had the Veggi Personal Pizza. Both portions were more than a meal although I managed to eat all my...pasta while my wife brought home three slices of the pizza. Fresh-made bread accompanies each dinner and it was really good.More
