5 star! They offer gourmet coffee and one of the yummiest grilled sandwich! I suggest Papua sandwich: turkey & blue cheese that comes with salad. I wish this cafe exists nation wide!

Friendly barristas, delicious coffees, and pleasant atmosphere. You don't mind paying a fair price for a cup of joe with local rather than corporate character.

Probably one of those things, someone called off....line of 8 people and 2 people working. That's ok, but online it had more food choices and when I got there he handed me a choice of 4 things, not listing the ones on the website I came to order. Nice people

This place was great. We had a group of 16 teenagers and 4 adults - the coffee is outstanding and the staff was great. You can sample the coffee and buy the beans whole or ground. I got the sumatra coffee to bring back home and it has been a wonderful treat in the morning. They also gave me a... More

On May 28th, having just finished a tour of Richmond on the trolley, we went into the Shockoe Espresso and Rostery. Everyone else ordered coffee, but being a hot day, I ordered lemonade. Upon tasting it, I and someone else, thought there was something "off" about the taste. There was no lemon taste at all, more like a carbonated flat... More

I love the location, and building. It really shows off the old city character and it's pretty awesome that they still have a super old coffee bean grinder in the shop BUT the coffee isn't all that great! I think there's better coffee shops in the area!

Needs some work on the food menu, but prices are good and very quick. Worth the extra steps over the farmhouse coffee place in the corner which is too pricey and pretentious.

The coffee was excellent, and the vibe distinctly relaxed. Very good choice for anyone who views coffee as a chance to savor a drink and perhaps a moment or two to unwind.

Love their coffee. Definitely their cup of Joe give you more buzz than those from Starbucks. They also serve yummy grilled sandwich with balsamic vinegar, but what I love the most is that they serve green salad that's world-class quality & texture. I don't know why but most of nice restaurant in Richmond serve very good quality vegetables so much... More

This has turned into a must stop when I am on east cary. I first stopped in for my morning coffee and picked up a pound to take home. An excellent light roast is the most smooth coffee in my automatic drip maker. The place has a nice vibe for some computer work and a cup of coffee. It not... More
