We were staying less than a block from the Cafe and went there for a late dinner (after 8:00). It was comfortable and friendly. the food was good with ample portions of food. The server (Kat) was very friendly, had lots of information and was very attentive. She made the entire experience enjoyable. The other patrons were locals and made... More

I've been going to Bamboo since the 70's when they had a jukebox in the corner. One of the best old fan bars around. So much is original, and I love that they never change the basics. Same bar, same booths, same pictures, same set up. Dark and cozy, yet ever so comfortable. Obviously ownership has changed over the years,... More

Good burgers and sandwiches, specials rarely disappoint. Usually a good beer selection, service is above average for this part of town.

I've only been here twice. It seems to fill up at lunch. Our party had a variety of simple items. One of our party loved the church pew like booth at the very back of the establishment which provided a slightly elevated view of the whole place. My tuna fish sandwich was okay with plenty of tuna and tomato. My... More

The wife and I were looking for a place to do Sunday brunch. We'd planned to go to a popular place in the near west end of greater Richmond. However, the place was really busy and there was a 15-20 minute wait. When you've waited until 1ish to get some grub - the extra 20 minutes wouldn't do. Sooo, we... More

I have been having brunch at the Bamboo Cafe since the late 70's and have never been so disappointed as I was today, As a matter of fact, this is the first time I've ever BEEN disappointed. As someone who has worked a short order grill for breakfast many years ago, i know full well how a kitchen can get... More

Excellent quality and variety of food in a casual, eclectic atmosphere. The nightly dinner specials starting at 6 p.m. are always terrific and a very good value. Limited seating but worth going any time. The fan setting is appealing, too. Street parking can be a challenge at busiest time, but always worth the effort!

So glad we ditched our dinner plans to go to this place instead! I am quite the aficionado of mac and cheese (yes, there is such a thing!), and theirs is probably the best I've ever eaten (I got it without the ham). I will be following their lead and putting leeks in mine from now on! I got the... More

The food is always good, but this place is always crowded. Service can be friendly. or no descript, as "Fan" servers think since they work in "The Fan", they are the star of the business, not the food. I would not recommend families, it' more a bar.
