Deep Run Roadhouse (DRR) is my go-to place for the best BBQ, Tex-Mex, and comfort food in the greater Richmond area. The BBQ is where they truly shine. Barbecued ribs, brisket, chicken, pork, rope sausage, smoked chicken wings, and even barbecued Portabello mushroom are just...out of this world! Texas will never agree that anyone could outdo them with beef brisket, but Texans who have eaten here just shake their heads in disbelief when eating DRR's brisket. Their sides are old-fashioned homestyle foods such as cornbread, hush puppies, cowboy beans, cole slaw, potato salad, and the like. Check out their menu for the other goodies. Their staff is polite, well-trained, and are consistently helpful. As a former Health Department Restaurant Inspector, I am really impressed with their top-notch sanitation standards during these difficult COVID-19 days. If you get your food here, the only thing you'll catch will be some damn good food! Currently doing take-out, delivery, and catering. Highly recommend!More

We've dined in, ordered out, had them cater events in our house a few times, and most recently utilized their contactless curbside pick-up. The food is delicious and professionally prepared. I highly recommend Deep Run Roadhouse!!!!

In Search Of Great Barbecue. ( And this wasn't it) I don't normally choose Texas style barbecue but the reviews here were really good. The Brisket was charred nicely, good fat to meat ratio but very very moist with not much flavor. Tender but reminded...me of meat that has sit in juices too long. The Ribs were so heavenly coated in a sauce with a jam consistency you could not even taste the meat. They did fall off the bone. At least the corn bread was hot so it melted the frozen butter they gave me. Not my cup of tea, but the locals seem to like it. I did like the artwork on the walls but the guy who took my order had the personality of wet cardboard. And the search continues.More

Met some friends here on a Friday night for dinner. Seems like the typical BBQ place anymore, and they do have good food. They had a few draft beers available, and a few more in bottle. But if you want wine....they only have a couple...of the little individual serve bottles. We opted for the Devil's Backbone and Bold Rock cider. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and I had the cuban with pork. Mine was basically just a "smashed" version of hers....on the same bun. It tasted good, but on the next visit I'll opt for the sandwich. They have a great variety of sides, and we opted for the jalapeno mac n cheese and the potato salad. Both were very good. Definitely would go back here again when in the area.More

This place is a nice BBQ spot. Food was delicious and affordable. You order at the front and they give you a buzzer and you go sit down and when your buzzer goes off you go back up to the front and get your food....I had the smoked bbq wings and corn sweet cornbread with cinnamon butter. Some people in my party had the ribs and catfish and they said they were good. We had no complaints.More

Food is really good! The dining room Is clean and inviting. Overall a good experience. However it is a expensive! My husband and I ordered a full rack of ribs and 1/3 pound of brisket any sides are an extra charge. A full rack was...$26.00 for just the ribs. I felt like that was a lot. Although very tasty we most likely won’t go back because itnis not a good value and it would be really to much for us to bring the family.More

My husband and I visited while passing through the area. We were not disappointed! I had the chopped pork sandwich and he had a half rack of ribs. All was delicious and promptly served. Staff was courteous. Oh...and the Mac & cheese was great, too!
