We stopped in here for breakfast and were not disappointed. The selection is great, the place is funky, and our waitress gave us lots of suggestions for places to visit in the area. I only wish we could have come back for lunch and dinner. They offer something for everyone, from the meat eater to the vegetarian. Even the coffee... More

We came to 821 after walking out of another local eatery where the service was very rude. At 821 we were promptly greeted with a smile, pleasantries and a menu. I had an omelet with fresh fruit. My companion had something with a small salad. The food was good, the fruit was fresh and flavorful as was the salad. All... More

I think I liked almost everything about this place. It was inexpensive and light food. It wasnt greasy either and the food comes out fairly quick. I got the beef chilli, the turkey croissant and the nutella stuffed banana french toast. The food was pretty decent and I only have one complaint - there were one too many flies in... More

A budget friendly locale, but come with a big appetite. The food is good and the servers are polite and prompt. The restaurant has had to overcome the challenge of a small building, so be prepared to get to know the three hairy hipster guys sitting at the same table.

After touring the historic Hollywood Cemetery for a couple of hours, my group of four was looking for a nearby restaurant for a quick lunch before hitting the road to travel back home. Luckily, we decided to give this cafe a try because of its location and high ranking by other TripAdvisor users. This cafe is only a few blocks... More

We were getting ready to see the Lion King at the Altria Theater and were running short on time. We needed somewhere close and quick. Pulled up Yelp, and BAM 821 Cafe it is! The weather was nice so we sat out on the patio. Excellent people watching in this location. The sun was setting in my eyes and I... More

Restaurant close to VCU. College hang out with good food at a reasonable price. Three egg omelet bacon, mushroom, spinach, onions and Brie was fantastic. Fruit was fresh. Club sandwich was piled with meat. Fresh chips were good; however almost burnt they could have taken out the fryer a little sooner. French toast was made with slices of French Bread... More

Met my VCU student here for lunch. Very crowded at noon so we sat at the bar. Bartender very friendly and attentive. Ordered Billy Philly and 821 Club Sub. Bread fresh and sandwiches very big. Could have split a sandwich between the two of us. Sandwiches come with a side and if you order fries the amount is very large.... More

Stopped by seeing the good reviews on TA and am glad we did. Sat right up to the bar where we were promptly serviced with coffee. My wife had seen the Nutella stuffed french toast with sliced bananas and I discovered she had never tasted Nutella before. The bartender promptly turned around and asked the kitchen staff for a scoop... More

This is a small but quaint café. Had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated for lunch but it was worth the wai.
