We went this morning. I was with my family and the hostes was rude and did not want to answer a question about the wait. It is unfortunate because the foid is great and so are the waiters. The hostest is the first person you...meet and she should mind her manners. That is not the right fit for her. Maybe she should work in the back.More

The person at the door on Feb 18 was so disrespectful that patrons were turning around and leaving. We told we could not be seated although there were over 10 empty tables. We were skipped over and ignored by the same hostess over 8 times....When I tried to ask why we were being skipped, she ignored me turned her face and walked away. We finally left after an hour wait. Lastly I tried to call the manager but the phone was never answered. This was the most unbelievable experience if my life.More

This is a wonderful Jewish deli that serves many delicious choices. Their fresh bagels complement any meal and the latkes (potato pancakes) are served with sour cream and apple sauce. We also enjoyed their blintzes. For some reason, the restaurant was very cold and we...sat wearing our jackets. They have street parking or you can use a parking lot one block away.More

Efficient Friendly Service, Sandwiches are Good Size. Busy, but seats come available quickly. The sandwiches are delicious, a little salty, nice place. Parking can be a hassle. Recommended.

I was in town for a meeting and knew there could be a wait at Perly’s. I parked on the curb, placed an online order, and had my food within 20 minutes. I ordered the duck & potato pierogi, based on a Diners, Drive-ins and...Dives episode, and a bowl of matzo ball soup. Both dishes were delicious and the quantity & quality for the price was a steal! I will definitely return if in the area and recommend anyone visiting Richmond try Perly’s.More

I was taken back with the very long wait in the heat and humidity but I was told by staff that’s it’s the same situation every single day. I am happy that they have such a strong reputation with locals and tourists as I had...no idea. I did a huge Google search and hiked from hotel where streets were empty and desolate except the mob here. Due to heat, the very long wait list moved fast as many left. I stuck it out 30 minutes and happy I did. The restaurant is smaller than I thought but very cozy and cute. I was seated at the bar and chatted up the server about the menu even though I already knew what I was ordering as I had plenty of time to decide. I do know I want to go back again as I want to try other options on menu that server recommended and menu is extensive. Be patient with the wait, with food delivery and very close to comfort seating next to others but food worth it.More

Just like a New York delicatessen, with an owner dashing around to ensure that all is well. Noisy, as expected. Good service, but... the blintzes were ok and the fried matzoh was definitely below par. Should have tried the chicken soup, we guess.

This is a wonderful cultural restaurant. The food was old world Jewish. Reminds me of deli’s in NYC. The meals we ordered were delicious. We will definitely look forward to visiting again.

Excellent food: tsimis is especially good. All fish items on the fish platter were first rate - no bones in a generous portion of whitefish. Plan to go again. Good service.

I went to Perly's for lunch with a friend and, overall, I thought the menu was very unique and varied, and the food was delicious. This is certainly a happening spot, with all the seats full on a random Wednesday morning that I went in....A very bustling vibe with small alcoves for people, but also a bar with sports on. The reuben came greasy with a huge portion of corn beef, which is the whole point! Very impressed. We also got the Jewish eggrolls, which were a good value at $8 because the portion was very large. I guess they just do big portions for everything here. Service was fast, and otherwise, it’s a normal diner...just with great deli food.More

I really wanted to like this since it was referred by a friend when we visited Richmond recently. We even anticipated the wait time we were told there would be (45 minutes). But my husband and I were both very disappointed with our sandwich's. I...had the roast beef and hubby had the reuben, both had meats that were well overcooked. We each had half our sandwich and wrapped the rest to go. The next day they were no better but I guess we just didn't choose the right things to have when we went.More

Delis like Perly's are getting harder and harder to find. Per'y's beat anything in the DC area. See details at johntannersbbq blog and search Perly's
