Here at Strawberry Street Cafe, we have been providing great food and service in an inviting, casual atmosphere since 1976. Located in the Historic Fan District, we are only about a ten minute drive from the Landmark Theatre and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. What we are best known for is our famous salad bar, which is actually situated in an old-fashioned bathtub and filled with fresh vegetables, fruits, prepared salads and homemade soups. The menu includes such specialties as Maryland Crabcakes, Pasta Jambalaya, Homemade Chicken Pot Pie, and Spinach Lasagna.

Strawberry Street is tucked away in the Fan District

It is not a tourist spot but Richmonders like it and bring their friends. Scattered here and there in The Fan are little cafes and other shops serving nearby residents and others who enjoy the small scale of the area, the tidy streets and little gardens among the inner city houses. We enjoyed a relaxing dinner here. The onion soup was terrific. The cheese sandwich could have had more cheese, but it was tasty. My friend had a crabcake and she said it was very good.

Parking is difficult in a residential neighborhood. Their parking in the rear is used by the employees and it I very dark and unkempt back there. The food that they hype is all frozen and warmed up. Drinks are expensive and the wait staff is aloof.

I've been in Richmond over 20 years and have been here many times. Our teenage daughters hadn't been so we took them for lunch. The food is still really good and the bathtub salad bar is still there. The French dip was nicely done as were the Mac & cheese and burgers. Service was friendly but rushed. They were pretty... More

Nice place for lunch with friends. Or early dinner. Always get the salad bar. Friendly staff. Quick service. Only problem is street parking. But most "Fan" people have a lot of experience. Better than paying down town.

My family enjoyed our visit for a late lunch/early dinner. Portions are generous, salad bar is extensive, and desserts are yummy.

Have not had a bad meal there after going off and on for over 20 years. Crazy busy some nights but service is consistently good. Bathtub salad bar is famous (and really good)

Great place to eat, drink and be merry. Love the salad bar in the tub. Everything is fresh and the bar offers lots of choice libations.

Wow! I have been dining here ever since I was young. The bathtub salad bar was always a cool draw. When I was a teen and college kid, I came here with my friends, dates, grandparents. When I was in grad school, my future husband and I met up here to rekindle our college-initiated romance. I moved two blocks away... More

The Sunday brunch buffet is well priced and has plenty to choose from. Only around $12 and has breakfast foods, several different types of cold salads and a bathtub salad bar! Oh and the doughnuts are delish!
