Start with dessert in mind! The pineapple coconut cake is amazing! Three of us ate, and each enjoyed all parts of our meal.

Best home cook food in Richmond, Va. It's worth the wait. I like the pork chops and gravy and fried fish.

Thoroughly enjoyed food and atmosphere at Mama J's. Comfort food is delicious and service was excellent. Venue is small, so get there early on theater night. Highly recommend to fellow travelers. Catfish is terrific.

Not many choices to eat in Richmond near the Convention Center, but this place is small, quaint, clean and good. Get's crowded at around 5 PM, so try to get there before the dinner rush or you'll be waiting. We had a large party and were seated together right away. The service was good and quick, and our server was... More

When coming to Richmond this restaurant is an absolute must. Although the line can be out the door down the street, it is worth the wait. Take out is great also. We highly recommend this restaurant if you are interested in the cuisine.

We wanted to go here based on reviews. We expected a wait to be seated, not a problem, it allowed us to take in the diner atmosphere. We waited only about 30 minutes. But once we were seated, it was 20 minutes before a server acknowledged us. Now this place is SMALL, so it wasn't like we were seated in... More

Great neighborhood place, amazing food, not expensive. What more could you ask for? I don't live in the neighborhood but this place makes me wish I could walk into it for dinner every day. The catfish is not fishy tasting, perfectly seasoned and fried to perfection.
