Read a post from MSN stating it s one of the better bbq food outlets in RVA. The 3 of us arrived on a Saturday for lunch, was immediately seated, and drinks ordered. When the drinks arrived I ordered the Hog Burger, the wife The...Hog Dog, and daughter, The Hogshead Puller Pork. We were all satisfied with our selections which were tasty, hot, and in abundance. The service was good and timely for freshly prepared foods. There was a steady arrival of customers arriving after us, all were seated and served directly.More

I saw the yuuuuge hot dog in the online pics and decided to give it a shot. I got the custom dog with saurkraut, pickle and onions. It came on a bun that had split in half so everything was laid bare and falling out....There was barely any saurkraut or onions and cheese was stuck to the bun. Overall I'd say a very lazy effort. I had the scalloped potato side which was average. Dessert was the peanut butter pie which cost $7.99 by itself. Service could definitely have been better, but was attentive when given. I'd rate the overall experience as "average" at most.More

First visit and it was pretty good. I had the burger with pulled pork on it. It was pretty good and filling. The fries were excellent and the service was fine. It is slightly airy in there and it did get drafty a bit bit...we were glad we came. Prices were slightly on the higher side but manageable.More

My husband and I had the cafe cater our holiday events this year. The smoked prime rib was seasoned well and fork tender! The ham biscuit tray was filled with petite, homemade biscuits piled high with country ham. The tray came with two delicious homemade...sauces. The scalloped potatoes were rich and creamy, and the spoon bread had a custard-like consistency! Delicious! This was our first experience at the cafe. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Home cooking with a twist and lots of love!More

This is the place for you if (1) you are a ribs affectionado or (2) you like the feel and familiarity of a chain restaurant. My husband was in Hogs Heaven with his choice and my pulled pork sandwich was generous. Service was efficient and...friendly.More

We stopped for lunch on our way across I-64. We were seated immediately on a Tuesday shortly after noon. The menu has a nice variety of BBQ and other items. I enjoyed the BBQ Cuban sandwich. My wife took advantage of "Taco Tuesday." Our service...was good and prices are reasonable. We recommendMore

Good food, friendly service, kitchen very s-l-o-o-o-o-w to get food out on our Saturday night visit. Noisy, funky space and not particularly inexpensive (plates are $20.00 plus) but quite tasty and ample servings. The side salads are large and have really excellent house-made croutons. My...wife got the pulled chicken plate and the serving was large enough we had to get a to-go box. I got the shrimp Po-Boy and it was very good. Will return and try one of the other items from the very lengthy menu.More

My family and I went to Hogshead Cafe for my little sister’s graduation lunch. We sat on the patio by the fountain. It was a great experience. The food was beyond amazing. We ordered fried oysters, fried green tomatoes, and pork rinds for appetizers, fried...lobster po boy, fried green tomatoes/bacon po boy, fried shrimp for entrees. Then the drinks were the best I’ve ever had! We had peach belinis, hog hooch, and virgin Shirley temple’s. Lastly, dessert we took home, but Bread pudding and the coconut pound cake were sooo good later that night! I will be back!!! My only sadness was I originally went for the lobster roll, but sold out before I could order. I’ll try another time.More

Hi, Offsite, yes we can cater. Our restaurant only seats about 35-40 people at one time & we are not able to put together tables in our small space. Our catering menu is listed on our website Thanks Kim
