The Boathouse at Rockett’s Landing has, in the past, had it all: great food, great drinks, the best view, wonderful servers ... Well, they still have great food & drinks, an amazing view and friendly, wonderful servers, BUT their ordering system (dove all on your...cell phone) is THE PITS!! If I wanted that kind of experience, it would’ve been just as good to pick it up and take it home. The restaurant hardly needs humans to serve (which is SO SAD.) They need robots! When I go to a restaurant like this, I want to leave my cell phone in my purse. I want to have conversation and relax. This system is ludicrous. I will not be back to spend $200+ to use my cellphone to reorder beverages, etc. AWFUL.More

My wife and daughter joined me for their crab cakes special. The crab cakes were a decent size, filled with large pieces of lump crab meat. My wife and I sandwiches, while my daughter had a platter served with cut corn and green bean medley....As an appetizer, I ordered a half dozen oysters that were very fresh and chilled to perfection. This was definitely a good experience.More

We did not have a problem with the online ordering, though it is a bit tedious. It was curious that initially we had three different people visit our table to make sure we understood their system. We were told our waiter would be by, but...he never materialized. So there was no one to ask for recommendations or ask us if we needed anything else. Finally, we asked the 5th person we'd managed to flag down if our waiter was even there. She offered to send him over, but we'd been there 90 minutes and had finished our meal (which included an uninspired piece of sea bass and some average chowder). I understand not using paper menus during this time. I appreciate the contact-less payment method. But if the waitstaff can ask us if we need help with the ordering system, why can't they ask us if they can bring us our drinks or help with recommendations or take our order. This was our first visit, and our last.More

Enjoyed a fantastic anniversary meal with a view. Due to rain, we had to eat inside. The tables were spaced comfortably apart for social distancing. The waitstaff was attentive and explained the touchless ordering system - your phone’s camera reads the QR code which takes...you to the menu. You order each course as you are ready. We loved the lobster, which was cooked to perfection. We lived in New England and are too often disappointed when restaurants overcook seafood. Not at Boathouse! The seafood was flavorful and tenderly treated. We loved the peach and burrata salad, as well as the bananas foster bread pudding. Great meal! Highly recommend.More

After a long stressful day (contractors all over the house, while we were also working from home), I took a beautiful woman to the Boathouse at Rocketts. We did not have a reservation, but it was a Tuesday night in the middle of a heat...wave. We got a spot outside (we wanted outside) and used their touch-less menu from their website (I just used their QR reader) and ordered a nice rum-fruit drink and two straws. Very nice. We ordered the wedge salad and jalapeño corn fritters. The wedge salad was the best I have ever had, made with fresh made blue cheese dressing that was mid and oooo-sooo tasty. The fritters were also a home run! Staff came to see us several times and were very nice and professional. I shall return. Also, one of the best places for sunset.More

Without a reservation we were still able to be seated. The contactless menu was very frustrating, seeing how we needed to place our order for each course (spaced out) and the app told us each time our card was rejected so each time we had...to re-enter our info. It seemed we were on our phone more than being able to enjoy our meal and time together. We did not like that a 20% gratuity was automatically added seeing how they delivered our drinks and food and never once came back around to check to see if we needed anything. Through the app we requested a take out box, which after 5 minutes I stopped a waiter serving a table near us to get one. The food was good yet very overpriced. I'd rather go to a buffet to serve myself than have the lack of service we experienced here.More

Poor customer service, poor management. We stood in line for 30 minutes to get omelettes even after I shared my dad is 80 years old and cannot stand long. There were 8 servers in the kitchen doorway but they said they couldn’t help because they...were servers. 3 omelettes at a time so we couldn’t actually eat together. Waffle grew cold while we waited for omelettes. Mimosa became watery with ice because it came to the table while we were in the line. ManagerMore

Hi Alicat, You are correct. Most of the blue crabs do not come from Maryland. Most of what is left of the Chesapeake blue crab come from the lower Chesapeake in Virginia.
