The server tripled my tip, which I believe is illegal. My daughter and I had dinner there last week. The server had an attitude and the food was awful! We had a burger and the crab spaghetti. The burger was black and dry. The crab...spaghetti had a ridiculous amount of pasta and was also very dry. We didn’t eat nor did we ask for to-go boxes. I left a five dollar tip. I noticed on my bank statement that it was now a $15 tip. I contacted the restaurant and left a message for a manager. I was told someone would call back that day. No one called. I will never go there again!More

Super quirky restaurant with indoor/outdoor dining, full bar, friendly service, and satisfying food selections. Try the calamari, halloumi sticks, lamb tacos, and pineapple upside down cake. I wish they stayed open later.

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. It has indoor and outdoor tables with a nice atmosphere. Reservations only for parties of 5 or more, and your seating is limited to 1.5 hours. Parking is in back. Limited spaces directly behind, but there is a free...lot 1/2 block away. They have a full bar and serve exotic drinks. The menu is superb and has a distinctly Polynesian flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed the pork bowl that was not like any other dish I've eaten. The appetizers are large enough for two, and the calamari was great.More

A late lunch turned into 90 minutes for 2 sandwiches and no drinks because the server never offered or asked. Sign on entry, "Please wait to be served." We waited 5 minutes while the bartender eyed us and ignored us. We stepped into the bar...area and the server took us outside and then ignored us for 20 minutes--no drinks. She then took our order--2 sandwiches, and ran off before we could consider drinks. We waited 30 minutes for 2 burgers without the server offering a drink or a progress report. After serving the burgers, she was gone and never checked on us until she brought the check. When I questioned her, she said sorry, we are understaffed.More

Husband and I went for lunch. Got there at 12:50pm. Sat right away on patio. Waiter took 10 mins to come by the table. Another 10 for drinks. Coke and a wine. He brought a Malbec when I ordered their Cab Franc. He then tells...me they are out of the Cab Franc.Who just picks a wine without asking the customer. We ordered food and We asked what can come fast while we wait, he recommended their egg rolls. They arrived 10 mins later. 3 very small fried wonton spring rolls. Side of sauce was sticky over powering sweet. Rolls were mostly tasteless 6 bites total. So we then sit and wait. And wait. And wait. At 1:50 I ask the waiter for to go boxes and the bill he says “ok”. . Still no food! So food arrives 5 mins later and then so does waiter with to go boxes and bill. We pack it up, pay bill and left. No apology, no concern, not even a good bye. Got home, food was not just cold of course but overcooked. Ugh. Will not return. I cannot recommend.More

Now open with limited seating. Nice outdoor patio. Food is very good. Service average but during this virus mess, everyone is off their game. Limited menu.

This place was fun. We were able to talk during the meal with normal conversation. Plenty of seating arrangements and friendly atmosphere. Lots of light for meals and cheer. Parking on and off street. Food all seemed fresh and imaginative.

This was the first time I have been here for lunch. The food is quite good with interesting combinations. I ordered the fish sandwich which was tasty. The sandwich came with shoestring fries which seemed a bit off. I would think they were old but...we were there at noon. Service was ok.More

What an adorable place with no wait for Sunday morning brunch around 10am. We enjoyed the veggie eggs Benedict, the waffle with chicken, and the eggs with sausage. The sausage is amazing. Presentation is great. Finished the meal with a grapefruit brulle. Enjoyed it very...much.More

Had never heard about this cute restaurant before friends suggested meeting there. It was a hot night and we could not get into the restaurant, but were seated on side "porch" with fans. It was just fine as the drinks were great and the food...fabulous. Check it out!More

I'm hesitant to share info about Little Nickel - I don't want it to get any more popular than it is for selfish reasons! It's the perfect neighborhood spot. Small, intimate, friendly and so damn good. We have been going for a while now and...the restaurant has blossomed into more than just a "dive bar" -- they have expanded by adding a beautiful and functional (all weather) outside porch. It's Hawaiian themed with exotic selections, as well as just really good burgers. And OMG their fries. The top selections are the nachos (I won't spoil the surprise that makes them so special) and the poke bowl (can be made vegetarian). The specials continue to surprise and are always highly recommended. And leave room for dessert. Go HUNGRY. Make sure you go early or expect to wait. The place ebbs and flows and you never know who you will see sitting next to you. Little Nickel appeals to the masses. NOTE: Parking is around back or on the side street. Please - let's keep this place our little secret........More

When the YMCA offers parents night out, we get to together with our neighbors to enjoy an adult night out. When we were discussing where to go, an immediate suggestion was Little Nickel. My neighbor said a lot of people rave about it. The place,...in my opinion, has an interesting vibe.... stuck in time in the 50s in south Florida. (Nothing Up scale here). We all shared a great laugh over the pink flamingo wall paper in the restrooms.....maybe it was because the bartender knows how to fix a proper drink!!! The food was OUTSTANDING!!!! The calamari is hands down the best in Richmond..... hands down!!! The nachos are a meal alone and were great. The pork is the best of the two. I had the pork bowl.... it didn’t disappoint. Everyone raved about their dishes. This is a MUST GO!!!!More
