Wow, from our apps (octopus, pita with four toppings, etc.) to our entrees, it was all delicious. My wife had a tasty chicken picatta. My daughter had an awesome lamb entree. The mark of a good restaurant is how it performs on a busy night. Demi's did very well. We called for reservations late in the day; the hostess politely said the best she could promise was 7:45...we took it. We arrived a bit early and...were pleasantly surprised when the hostess said our table was ready. Demi's was busy! You get a vibe when you walk into a restaurant...this one was buzzing. It was loud, high energy. Patrons were clearly enjoying themselves. Our waiter greeted us right away and took our drink orders. The menu is nicely varied, reasonably priced and offers good choices. My wife ordered the pork marsala, while I chose the salmon putanesca. Warm bread was served, shortly after our drinks. Conversation was a bit of a challenge given the high energy atmosphere. Our entrees arrived with just about the right timing, another mark of a well run restaurant. Both of our dinners were delicious, full of flavor, cooked just right. Our waiter was clearly a professional, busy serving several tables with efficiency. He was pleasant, attentive and prompt. Demi's was superb. We will be back!More
I visit RVA quite often and have eaten at Demi's on a few occasions. The food is above average, but the owner, Daniella, is homophobic. She has been outwardly rude to me on every occasion that laid I my $100+ down at her establishment. She...was very rude, inconsiderate and obviously had a problem with me and my friends. I will no longer eat at this restaurant. Instead, I found a much better Mediterranean Restaurant located in Scott's Addition- a newly opened restaurant called Pinky's. They are accepting of ALL people and happy to take my money. The food is outstanding and the best TAPAS is RVA along with a wonderful atmosphere.More
I have eaten here many times pre Covid and enjoyed the restaurant. The food is consistent and there are many choices. The fish is always tasty. Vegetables are often so so, as the peas and artichokes taste like they are straight out of a can....What made tonight feel awkward happened at the end of the meal when we were presented with our check. Under the state tax was a line item, 'meal tax' of about $5 Ina $55 bill which was more than sales tax. I've never seen this on a restaurant bill so I asked the waitress what it was. She said she had no idea and kind of blew me off. When I pressed and asked again she said she'd get Jimmy(owner) and hurried away. After about 10 minutes jimmy came and claimed it was city tax -which added with state tax made it about 13%. He said of course waitress didntknow. I disagree, I think waiters should be able to explain a bill. After that she hurriedly ran our tickets and dropped them on table without a word. It certainly put a damper on a restaurant I have enjoyed in the past.More
This is a wonderful, cozy yet upscale neighborhood restaurant. The food is very good and the service is excellent. My spouse had the Chicken Marsala and I had the chicken souvlakia. Both were excellent! We shared the hummus. You have the option to order two...different types of hummus in the same serving. We had tahini which was recommended by our waitress and which had a little bite to it —really good.More
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Richmond VA. Authentic Greek, Italian and Spanish food. Everything is excellent. The service is too rare as well. Chef Jimmy makes sure you will have an amazing food expensive. Cheers!

What a great meal! The tomato pie was the greatest! The octopus was delicious as always. The sautéed calamari and artichoke appetizer was very good! The soft shell crabs were beyond description! Can’t wait to go back!
On our way back to dc we stopped for dinner. The kids has pasta and the adults had a number of appetizers. Everything was wonderful. We had the special fried eggplant, the dried apricots then two different soups. If I lived in Richmond I’d go...all the time. I loved the evil eye art as well.More
Tried this restaurant because of a friends recommendation. The food is Mediterranean/Greek style with pretty good size portions. Parking in this neighborhood can sometimes be an issue since many residential units surround the restaurants on the street, The variety and quality of dishes along with...the portion size offer a good reason to go back. We were pleased with the attractive surroundings and service in this modern Greek restaurant. The Greek wine we tried was good, the ham and chorizo soup was hearty, and the rockfish special on fried polenta with feta squares and grilled shrimp had a delicious sauce.
