We had dinner here on Saturday evening for five people. We were all coming from several locations and it was a convenient location to meet. I also have a gluten allergy and reviews indicated that a gluten free meal could be safely had here. That...proved true, but the experience overall was decidedly mixed at best. My wife and I both had steak and while mine was cooked well and was good, my wife's was quite tough. One of our table guests had good duck, but another had bland chicken. We ordered three sides as well. The roasted potatoes and beets were both good, but the brussel sprouts were bitter and almost completely uncooked. Two of us started with potato leek soup which was the highlight of the meal... really, really good. Only one chose to eat dessert, a chocolate bread pudding and indicated that it was good. Beyond the issues with food was our service. Drink orders were taken quickly, but then a delay of about twenty minutes happened before our meal order was taken. Then almost an hour wait started until our waiter asked if we'd been served our food yet (!!!!). At our "no" he said he'd check on it and the food arrived about 15 minutes later. We never had anyone check on us except for that one instance and no refills on drinks or drink orders ever took place. I don't believe that I can recommend this restaurant. Too expensive for this level of food an service. We will not be returning.More

We checked into the Charles Hotel after a long flight. We went to check out the hotel and then have dinner. At 6pm the restaurant, Henrietta's Table, had a long line, though half of its many tables were empty. We were made to wait, and...couldn't help wondering if there was some discrimination there, since we were two women. We finally were seated. The food as we watched it go by looked delicious, But we were both incredibly disappointed in the baked tofu with fresh vegetables and grains. It was bland, the vegetables were hard to find, it was very unsatisfying, We had a bit better luck with the desert, mixed berry pie. The service was also very slow and not helpful. Breakfast is served in this restaurant for the hotel guests. We returned again. The food looked good. It was better. The service though, incredibly slow. We were almost late for a meeting. It is restaurant service, rather than buffet. We recommend putting in a buffet for the working crowd. In spite of this, we do, however, like the hotel!More

My friend and I came here for an event, stayed for a meal and left about 4 hours later. :) We had the steak/frites, and duck confit --- totally. yum. And a glass of sauv blanc (sorry, I can't remember the name - it was...from New Zealand though). Great meal, and the staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. Amid a great location, and of all the good Harvard Square haunts, this is a perfect spot to take a rest and grab a bite. I'll be back for sure.More

Open space with. Many round tables, cozy booths at the back. Semi-casual - great service though this time I was disappointed. Our Senegalese waiter the previous two times was really outstanding. Food fresh, good quantities, delicious.

Well located in Cambridge and a nice place to stop after exploring Harvard area. Lunch menu was quite adequate with choices for all. Service was quick and attentive. We found a foreign item in one dish, removed it and informed and showed it to the...staff. As it was a small matter we kept the dish and turned down their offer to replace it. We didn't expect or ask for it but the restaurant took it off our check.More

There are two kinds of Sunday Brunches in the U.S. In one, there is a menu; you choose your food and it is brought to you. If differs from a regular restaurant meal only in that it is usually heavy on omelets as choices and...it happens to be served on Sunday. The second is a dying breed: a restaurant sets up 'stations' where is served everything from oysters on the half-shell to rib roasts. It has 'sittings' and you pay a single price for your meal. The price reflects the ambience and the quality and breadth of the food. For decades, my wife and I have been patrons of Cafe Fleuri at the Langham Hotel in Boston. The hotel is undergoing a top-to-bottom renovation that is now going to last well into 2020. In checking other venues, we discovered the prix-fixe brunch has all but disappeared from the region's restaurants. This Sunday (February 2) we tried Henrietta's Table at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge. The verdict? Very good food, interesting choices, but marred by a) a noise level that was almost painful to be part of, and b) food that was frequently chilled to the point of robbing it of taste unless left to warm on the plate. There were excellent pates and local cheese, great breads, smoked and fresh seafood, thoughtful side dishes (a wild rice dish was especially noteworthy), and an excellent dessert table. The service was competent; dishes quickly disappeared once finished. The price was a very reasonable $55 per person, with $10 parking available across the street.More

Very pleasant place for a dinner with friends. Food is consistently good. Service is attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is conducive for good conversation. The menu has a nice range of mostly comfort type foods: baked fish, pot roast, etc. Fairly typical New England fare. All...nicely prepared. Not very challenging to the palate but tasty and reliable. Decent portion sizes. Great restaurant for those who aren’t comfortable with exotic foods or food preparations. The food won’t knock your socks off but you will leave satisfied. Prices are reasonable.More

Simple food prepared to perfection. Went for dinner while in town to attend The Revels performance. I generally avoid restaurants in hotels but this is the exception that proves the rule! The food is locally sourced and everything is fresh and delicious. You are first...offered a basket of breads. The cranberry almond bread is so good, I immediately planned to come back for breakfast. I had the rotisserie chicken. It was tender moist and had a tasty crispy skin. My husband loved the yankee pot roast which included a nice gravy. Roasted potatoes for my side were served hot and had a nice flavorful crunch Dessert pie is a mini pie. I had the apple strudel that was served warm and with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream.More

A very nice brunch with a full selection of dishes and desserts and good service. A little pricey for eating there frequently (it's no good for your diet anyway!) but definitely recommended for a special occasion.
