Skip the restaurant part, unless you're a hot chocolate junkie on a cold day. This is the place for gourmet hand made chocolates, especially for gifts. The chocolate mice and penguins are prized treats.

The service was nice and their treats were delicious! But it is a bit expensive. However you just gotta go for it and enjoy one of their cakes (for example the coconut chocolate) accompanied by a cappuccino and you'll forget all about it. It's worth it!

The chocolate here is very good. Yes, it is expensive, but it is made locally by well educated chocolate makers who use high quality ingredients. Their chocolates (including the famous chocolate mice) make very good gifts. It's also nice to come in for tea, coffee, genuine hot chocolate (as opposed to watered down cocoa) and pastries, although a bit chilly... More

Order blindly from their selection of hot chocolate and you won't be disappointed. Wonderful place to pick up a gift as well.

While in Harvard Sq on Wednesday mornings for a weekly appointment, I discovered Burdick's. Starting with coffee and tea, I branched out and tried chocolates. I purchased some for my grandson for Easter and I was hooked! These chocolates are hand dipped and are so unique and delicious. They make very cute animals and unusual pairings of fruit and chocolate.... More

Our friend took us here and it did not disappoint! I'm wishing I had tried a pastry also! I had the milk chocolate cocoa and it was amazing. Very rich in flavor. She let me try her dark chocolate but it was too strong for me, I preferred my milk chocolate. Yum!

After a nice lunch two doors down at Tosca, I had a decadent hot chocolate at L.A. Burdick for dessert. Not too sweet but rich and creamy and thick. Do yourself a favor and check it out, near Mass. Ave and Harvard Square but off the grid a bit and so worth it. Try to get there at an off-time... More

This is THE best chocolate. expensive but it is the only shop from which we buy chocolate because it is such high quality. we love the actual chocolates, we love the chocolate cake, which we serve at parties and birthdays. and I love the apple tart. they have many special chocolates for particular times of the year, and those are... What more needs to be said? Delicious, artisanal, hand-made chocolates. Incredible house-made pastries. Hot cocoa. The price per pound is not small, but it doesn't take much of their chocolate to give a lot of pleasure. Definitely one of my go-to luxuries.
