This is a place we go to when we go to Cambridge and want to meet friends for a meal or celebrate a birthday - often on our way to music or an event in the area. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the food always hits the spot and, I really love the cocktails! Recently, after being at Temple... More

On a drizzly Sunday evening my husband and I had a comfortable dinner with friends from out of town here for the first time. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent - tasty, beautifully presented, and just-right portions. Some restaurants substitute quantity for quality. Others provide high quality but meager portions. The Temple Bar gets it... More

After reading the reviews concerning small portions and slow service, we went anyway as it was in the neighborhood where we were staying. The food and the portion size were a pleasant and positive surprise. With 3 of us, we ordered a starter of mussels and the portion was big enough to easily be an entree for one. Nice plump... More

A little trendy and upscale, but generally good food in a slightly pretentious atmosphere. A good spot, but slightly cold decor.

Restaurant has cut corners and isn't the place it used to be. Given what else is available up and down Mass Ave, let alone in Cambridge, why bother coming back. We were disappointed, especially since it had been a go-to place for us. As examples of the cut corners, the "fondue", which had been a nice cheese dish now had... More

Temple Bar is an unexpected dining gem about 4 blocks outside of Harvard Square, on Mass. Ave. Decent looking from the street, there is sidewalk and inside dining. The menu has several pizza choices, lots of apps a reasonable number of entrees, and loads of draft and bottled beer choices. dimly lit, but pleasant atmosphere for dining or barf drinking,... More

Honestly, I haven't been this disappointed in a restaurant in a while. I went into this place in a wonderful mood, and left completely annoyed. I usually refrain from giving bad reviews, figure there's always someone else more anxious to do it, but just feel so passionate about this one. Also, there's no point in the review system, if I... we had the classic breakfast, omelette with spinach, goat cheese and broccoli, and "the cure" (fries, bacon, gravy, cheese) topped with eggs. nothing was bad but, nothing was great, or even good. of all things, "the cure" should have been amazing, based on all of the ingredients involved, but the taste lacked oomph. i really can't explain it...

Nice restaurant - decorating, lighting and ambiance was nice. The food was below average I ordered the steak frites which was medium rare (brown in middle) and the braised pork (super salty). The menu selections and ingredients look wonderful however nothing had flavor. I ordered a Gilt coupon for this place and was not happy at all with the service... More

The food was ok, nothing to write home about and yet, nothing too terrible. Service was terribly slow. It took them one hour to bring us our dishes and the place wasn't even half full. We came for brunch on Sunday and were seated very close to the kitchen. From our table I could see the kitchen. It seems there... More
