The outside of this restaurant is very unassuming. We drove by it and then decided we should take a look at the menu. What a surprise! The inside of the restaurant is quaint and very comfortable. The food was fabulous. We had both of the...soup specials - beet soup and lentil soup. The soups are bottomless and needless to say we went back a couple of times. We also had fish and chips! The fish was very fluffy and the fries crisp and hot. We are big "foodies" and travel the world. This will be our stop when we come back to Iceland and encourage others to do the same.More

In a town with only 4 restaurants, it may not sound impressive to be considered the best, but I think this restaurant would stack up well in a larger community. Our server was excellent. The food seemed locally sourced and well prepared. Everyone enjoyed their...selections of veggie burger, chicken sandwich, and plokkfiskur.More

We had the Lamb Soup and the Fish Soup (which was really more of a gratin). All were very tasty. The wait staff was very acommodating.

We stopped here on the way back to Reykjavík and it was probably the best casual lunch we had in Iceland. We had the open faced chicken sandwich, the chicken was shredded and had homemade coleslaw which was delicious... Definitely worth a stop!

When we arrived around lunch time all of the tables were taken. The staff seemed to not be happy that we were waiting in the lobby. I'm not sure if we broke some local custom of not leaving if the tables were full. It was...super odd. Once we did get seated the rest of the experience was good. Two in our group at the lamb soup and said it was the best they had on the entire trip. I had the soup and bread of the day. Nice and tasty soups. My husband had the Thor burger. He enjoyed it.More

we had the lamb soup, potato soup, and Thor cheeseburger....honestly, this was the best meal I've had in a LONG time. The night before we had dined at MOSS at the blue lagoon which was really great! but somehow nothing beats the warmth and love...that you can taste in this food. It's wonderful.More

Loved this quirky art gallery/shop/cafe. The lamb soup and Plokkfiskur are to die for. We stopped in without high expectations and were so impressed that we ended up coming back a few days later on our way to LAVA center.

We ordered lasagna and plokkari. Everything was tasty, but the portions were too small. Or the prices were too high. Excellent coffee.
