I highly recommend the vegan burger, one of the best I’ve ever tried. A family member also ordered the regular burger and according to him it was delicious as well. The place it self is very trendy and well designed and the staff was super...nice. Will definitely go again next time I’m in Hvolsvöllur.More

You are not spoilt for choice in Hvolsvöllur: if you don't want to have a highway-quality pizza or a burger, you better head to the supermarket while it's still open (which, on weekend, is not for long). We ended up at Midgard out of desperation....The menu was not exactly appealing to my tastes, but in the end we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered a naked burger, and not only was it tasty - the chef even came out to check whether I needed the meal to be gluten free. This kind of attention to guests is not common in Iceland, and I sure didn't expect it in an affordable burger place. The side potatoes were lovely, and the salad very fresh and rich. All in all, an unexpectedly nice meal, made even better by the friendliness and attention to detail of the whole staff.More

Food was very nice, we had the vegan burger which I really reccomend and the lamb. They offer great wines and drinks too. Service was very friendly. We enjoyed it a lot! Would come back any time

We stayed at Midguard and ate here every day. The burger, salmon, lamd were all excellent. Portions were huge, and we were very pleased. The chocolate dessert (pot of cream?) was also great.

We were with a large group and went to Midgards for dinner. The meal was outstanding and the entertainment was a true delight. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the people at Midgards and our evening with them. We will be back!

It was our 1st diner in Iceland but one of the best. They have menu with options for everyone vegan vegetarian meat eaters... They were very kind, they made efforts to make sure we understood what we did order they brought the pulled lamb in...preparation to show us what it is. It was very tasty and the atmosphere very warm.More

My group of eight stopped off for breakfast at Midgard. There were sweets, carbs, and proteins (i.e., slices of meat and cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, and yogurt). The coffee and juice were good. The breakfast was good and hit the spot. The vibe of the seating...area and lobby was cool and adventure oriented. I docked them a star because the breakfast buffet line was tight - a bit cramped. The angled line makes it tight if more than 3 people are there. Other than that I'm considering a return when I return to Iceland in March.More

We stayed at Midgard Base Camp for 2 nights and it was wonderful. Such a highlight of our time in Iceland. I spoke with them ahead of time to confirm that the restaurant would be able to accommodate for my gluten free (Celiac) diet, and...they assured me that they could. We had a wonderful meal. The space and atmosphere at Midgard are very inviting and really do make you feel at home. We had a salad to start, which was simple but so good, and one of the rare salads we found as an appetizer in Iceland. I had the salmon with mashed potatoes as my main, and it was fresh and delicious. No issues with gluten at all. My husband really enjoyed his lamb burger as well. I’d highly recommend both the restaurant and Midgard Base Camp. I’m so happy that we found it.More
