The location is very nice inside a grotto . Food is very posh with presentation and water is very good ! A lot of bread , and we had a great beef. If you spend the day at blue lagoon maybe it's ok but if you want a typical Icelandic food better to go back to the capital

Fresh, Icelandic fare with views of the Blue Lagoon (and a decent wine/cocktail list). This was our last meal in Iceland, and it was a lovely way to end a great trip. The service was okay, and the ambiance is somewhat average and stark, but the food was delicious. I highly recommend the langoustine soup and the cod dish. NOTE:... More

Beautiful restaurant with friendly staff. I'd advice to pre book as it seemed busy. The food wasn't cheap but worth every penny! I had probably the best vegetarian meal I've ever had. My sister had the fish dish and also food it to a high standard. We enjoyed the blue lagoon but won't go again. It's one of those things... More

Though we had no reservation, there was a table for us after our visit to beautiful blue lagoon spa. Warm welcome. Good appetizer, nice wine. All dishes made of icelandic ingredients and well prepared. Very tasteful and nicely presented and decorated, Expensive, but worth the money in such a location.

Recently had lunch with 3 other people after a morning enjoying the warm waters of the Blue Lagoon. It was a welcome change of scenery after the crowds in the Lagoon. We choose to do lunch in our spa robes. They keep the restaurant warm, so the damp robe and bathing suit were not problems. About 20% of the patrons... More

Reservations were included with our package to the Blue Lagoon, along with a sparkling drink. We ordered cranberry juice as we were just to tired to even think of a cocktail. I think we would have been better off just having a meal at the cafe', as the meals did not even come close the the fantastic feast we had... More

We prebooked lunch before our Lagoon swim. The kids were happy with the generous and well made children's meals. We selected the seafood and gourmet set menus. All 3 courses were excellent and generous portions sizes. Prices were reasonable for Iceland (and considering ferrous helpings) though steep for anywhere else is the world. Only downsize was that it took quite... More

We had read the reviews and thought we'd give the Tasting Menu a miss. Most of the mains can be made gluten-free. I had the steak which was excellent - perfectly cooked and extremely tender & tasty. My wife had the cod which was also excellent and tasty. The desserts all have some sort of cake and not good for... More

This restaurant is a small piece of heaven. The food was truly amazing. I had the vegetarian options and my partner had the tenderloin steak - amazing! The staff were lovely and the whole experience was perfect! Thank you

I keep saying it and I'll say it again; Iceland is NOT cheap! lol Now that being said, I made peace with going poor at this restaurant because I was on vacation and damn it I was going to YOLO it up! I mean when I read the description on the webpage claiming "LAVA Restaurant’s team have an international perspective,... More
