After reading other reviews of DJs, we decided to try it for breakfast. There was a brief wait, but we got seated promptly. Parking is an issue; I had to park in a lot next door. The service car was quick. My partner and I both ordered pancakes. She ordered pecan pancakes. When the order came, we realized there were... More

We ordered the breakfast horseshoes last Sunday morning - and they are huge! ($8.50) I selected sausage patty as my meat, with scrambled eggs, tator tots, and half cheese - half gravy. My husband did the same thing, except with hashbrowns instead of tator tots. They were DELICIOUS and we brought home leftovers. The sweet tea ($1.95) is SO SWEET... More

Tucked away on Laurel St, a great diner. Best (I think) for breakfast though lunch is a good solid diner experience also. I have not been there for dinner, don't know if they serve it. Small, Formica tables, but oh, the eggs!

I was looking for a place to eat a tasty hashbrown and pancakes and I stumbled upon D&J's. The staff was friendly, the prices were reasonable, and my food was hot. I ordered a stack of three pancakes and a side of hash browns and I have to say that they were some of the best that I've ever had!... More

Although we are senior citizens, we noticed that we were the youngest of the breakfast crowd. If you want a hearty breakfast like those common 50 years ago (but relatively hard to find now), the D & J is the place for you. Be aware that while the prices are quite good, they do not accept credit cards.

Most consistent breakfast in town. The food is always good and the service is great. I have been going there for years. Never had a bad meal.

We stopped here last Spring and love the place, good tasting food and a frendly staff. Your order comes out cooked just as you like so fast it's unbelievable. We wish we had stopped here years ago instead of waiting so long to do so.

Friendly, clean, no nonsense, no fuss food. Breakfast anytime, I like the Breakfast Shoe...a play on Springfield's famous Horseshoe. Don't expect frills, just good service, friendly people and good food. A great "Mom & Pop" place!!

I have lived in the area for years, and had no idea this place existed until a few weeks ago. The family went there for breakfast, and it was so good we came back the next day as well. It is a mom & pop type atmosphere, the waitresses are nice, the food is cheap, and tasty. We will return.

Love having breakfast here with my family. I've done so for years and it is always FAST and consistent. The bacon is crispy and eggs are cooked correctly every time. Your cup of coffee stays full. Friendly accomodating staff. Great place to eat with young children as well- your server will probably dote on them. This is a no-frills diner,... More
