Met a local for lunch when going to the Lincoln Museum and Old State Capitol (which is across the street). They offer a daily special with drink (no substitutions) which on this day was cream of spinach soup, chicken salad sandwich and iced tea for about $9. Very good cheesecake. Our friend likes their carrot cake.

Stopped in for lunch after we toured the Lincoln Presidential Museum. I had the chicken salad on a croissant and it was very good. My husband had the tuna salad and a bowl of cream of broccoli soup which he said they were both very good. Located right downtown in front of the Old State Capitol building.

We were looking for a good place to have lunch and had two people recommend the Feed Store. I had a Rueben and it was fantastic my wife had the Chicken Salad that was their specialty and she said it could have had more chicken salad on and also added it was nothing special.

Great sandwich and soup place which is close to downtown and the Lincoln Library. If its a nice day, its just a couple block walk. Great chicken and wild rice soup.

This is a local favorite with many sandwich and soup choices. It is not fancy. It is close to downtown hotels and on the square of the Old State Capitol. It is about 5 blocks from the present Capitol and 3 blocks from The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. This was Obama's choice for lunch when he visited in 2016. You... More

Our guide at the capitol building recommended this as her favorite lunch spot. Located directly across from the old state capitol and housed in a historic building, this lunch-counter service restaurant has many fresh offerings. Our server greeted us at the door, guided us through the menu and assisted us in making our choices. Once the decisions were made he... More

I have grown up with the Feed Store and it is the BEST place for soup and sandwiches. The people are extremely nice and the atmosphere is extremely friendly. The sandwiches are awesome and it is a restaurant that nobody should pass up. You will not be sorry. You will even be tempted to take something home for dinner. A... More

All I can say is i love this place. Best sandwich and soup at a reasonable price. Great service. I was not impressed with the lime blueberry cheesecake, but I will for sure enjoy lunch there every time I am in Springfield! Keep up your great work

This is another example of ordering at the counter and having food brought to your table that seems to be popular in Springfield. Excellent homemade soups - several choices every day. Nice breads and sandwiches - a very pleasant alternative to fast food.

The food was not exceptional. The atmosphere, noisy, especially at lunchtime. Aside from it's location, ther's nothing here to see.
