When in Springfield - Horseshoe Sandwich

We ate here twice on our recent stay. I had a breakfast 'Horseshoe Sandwich', and a supper 'Horseshoe Sandwich'. Both were very good.

The food was good, but I am from Chicago and there just is not any comparison to the food in Chicago so I cannot not say it was great. I am sure for Springfield is is really good.

I ate here two nights while staying at the hotel on a business trip. Neither dinner item matched the menu description. The first night I ordered a Mediterranean salad which was very salty, even for me and I like salt. There were ample greens and grilled chicken but the promised artichokes and olives were absent. The second night I ordered... More

Lindsays used to be one of the best restaurants in Springfield, but th equality has declined tremendously. Instead of a chef it seems they might just have a membership to Sam's Club. The Friday night Seafood buffet and Sunday buffets used to be some of our favs, but now it seems the offerings are not as appealing.

We ate breakfast here after our stay at the President Lincoln Doubletree. Because we were hotel guests, we were somewhat of a "captive audience" for choosing this restaurant, as it is the only breakfast choice on the premises. We arrived toward the end of the breakfast buffet hours, but still with at least an hour left in the posted hours.... More

On Sunday evening, the restaurant was closed, so I ate at the bar. I ordered the pork chop with risotto and cannellini beans. The chop wasn't done to my requested specifications, but close. The risotto was nice, but not spectacular. The beans were cooked with apple, although they were just fine without the fruit. Overall, a satisfying meal, but...

We were staying at the Abraham Lincoln hotel, and the restaurant advertised a prime rib dinner special. We ate fairly early (about 6:00 pm) in the evening and there were very few customers in the restaurant. I ordered the prime rib special and knew the moment it was delivered at my table that it wasn't going to work out well.... More

Not a large menu, BUT what we had for breakfast and lunch was excellent and prices were not bad either.
