Friendly staff welcomed us and explained selections on the varied and unique menu. Appetizers were delicious and large servings and each one's aroma had us sharing with each other. Salads and large plates were beautifully presented and again we found each other tasting the variety of preparations. Everything was divine! It was a perfect birthday celebration for our dear friend!

My wife and I truly enjoyed the dining at American Harvest Eatery! The service was great (Jeff was our server). The menu options are interesting and unique as the chef focuses on local produce and supplies for his offerings. My wife enjoyed the ravioli and I had the pasta special. The salads were very good (beets and plums for me... More

We were in Peoria for a live show but after doing research had decided to stop here for lunch. We arrived an hour before the restaurant closed but were told they had decided to close early, apparently restaurants can't run these days without computer systems. Strange thing is there were people there eating?!? The staff just did not seem interested... More

In my opinion this is the best restaurant in Springfield Illinois. The menu is always creative, always changing depending on the season and ingredients available in the market. There's always daily specials that are surprising and they can always accommodate different food restrictions including vegetarians and vegans. I've never had a bad meal here ever!.

If you like farm to table, locally owned, tasty comfort food check out this place. The dinner menu is seasonal and changes to keep it fresh. Dinner can be expensive, but the lunch menu is just as good for half the price. ($20 and under per couple.) They serve craft beer, wine and make great bloody mary's for brunch. I've... More

We had not been to this restaurant for a few years. The menu is fun because they create food combinations that sound surprising. At our table we had a burger, the chickpea stew, and the smoke salmon open face sandwich. All delicious! Since I personally do not eat pork the menu is more limited but there are options. A very... My standard for bringing out of town friends. Delightful use of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Small plates, apps, and salads can't be beat.

We went to the American Harvest Eatery because we saw a good review. It was in a strip mall but it wasn't your typical strip mall eatery. We got there early and snagged a table. By the time we left it was packed with people waiting. The wait staff was excellent. They had fancy cocktails and good wines. The food... More

I am involved in our local Farmers' Market so when we travel, I am delighted to find restaurants serving local products. That's how the American Harvest Eatery was billed when we checked into a motel in Springfield, Illinois. The menu offered appetizers, entrees and desserts but our experience has been that we should go for the entree to be able... More

The Chef and his wife the sous chef are a young couple in their late 20's who are presenting dishes with fresh ingredients in combinations usually not found in the average Springfield restaurants. The food here always reminds me how good imaginative young chefs are. Plus, they also have good craft beer.
