A nice stop if you are doing the Route 66 tour. Lots of interesting memorabilia inside. Stopped to try the "Original Corn Dog". My daughter and I love our corn dogs and these were different. We aren't exactly fans of these "Originals" but they are definitely worth a try. There is something on the menu for everyone.

Warm, friendly atmosphere and plenty of camaraderie to be had with fellow Route 66 trippers. Lots of memorabilia, posters, artifacts, etc, that will interest anyone doing the 66.

This is the home of the "corn dog" since it was invented here in Springfield Illinois. This is a meal that is prepared very differently at this location than anywhere else. It's definitely worth a stop while you're driving through Springfield or live in town to taste a little history.

As a stop on the old Route 66 we were told we needed to try a 'corn dog' - basically a frankfurter sausage in corn batter and fried on a stick. We tried one, as did most of our group. The general concensus - that's one off the 'bucket list'. we won't worry again!

The Cozy Dog is world famous and a shrine to Route 66. I know you're thinking its only a corn dog, but its a "perfect" corn dog. Invented by World War 2 vet, Ed Waldmire, Cozy Dogs were officially launched in 1946. People from around the world make a point to stop here, and if you are traveling Route 66... More

We stopped here after reading about it in one of our guidebooks whilst planning our 3 week road trip. Cute little place full of interesting memorabilia, we had a little wander round looking at all the things on display. The food was really nice - me, my daughter and son had the hot dogs and my husband had a cozy... More

This is a fun restaurant which offers plenty of distraction while awaiting your order. The cozy dog was terrific! I ended up ordering another, so good was it. Cheese sticks were full of creamy cheese. Both the chili and pork sandwich were just ok. No heat in the chili. Enjoy the decor. Meal was quick. Nice work!

We went for lunch here on our trip to Springfield to see the Lincoln sites. Had to try the cozy dog and we were not disappointed! We also had fries, very tasty and my husband had some cole slaw which he said was very good. We would go back again if we are ever in the Springfield area again.
