Good fast food from a family institution. Cozy dogs are the best corn dogs I've had, and burgers hot off the grill hit the spot!

I stop in here from time to time for lunch to grab a couple chili cheese dogs. They are awesome but a bit over priced. The taste makes up for the price though. If you are in to Route 66 memorabilia you will like the decor. There are souvenirs available as well. Staff are friendly and service is fast. If... More

I love a place that just focuses on what they can do and do it well. Corn dog, French fries & fountain soda. Sometimes it's good to just sit down shut up and eat and that's what we did. Would be five stars but I despise styrofoam and cheap napkins.

Customer service wasn't the greatest and the tables were dirty and not wiped down. All the ketchup bottles were empty. It wasn't busy while we were there and instead of cleaning tables and refilling bottles the workers were talking behind the counter or off talking to friends at a table.

I love a good corn dog and Cozy Dogs are the real thing! A must stop for the young and not so young. I'm sure I must have eaten here as a child because it brought back fond memories the minute I took my first bite. The fries and onion rings were great, too. And the employees were very friendly... Some people call them corn dogs, some call them pronto pups or dogs on a stick but the original in Springfield, IL is the Cozy Dog. Ed Waldmire, Jr. first developed the Cozy Dog in 1946. He actually started in 1941 while in the army and called them Crusty Curs but his wife didn't like the name. So the Cozy... More

This is a local phenom. Basically fried food with corn dogs being king. Great lunch stop or a quick snack on the run...that is if you don't care about your cholesterol levels...cheap fast and filling

Nice little diner; fast service, employees always happy. I love taking out-of-towners here for a little piece of Route 66 History!

Walking into the Cozy Dog is like going back in time to a much simpler time. Of course the Cozy Dog is great but don't forget about the hamburgers and french fries. Much of the staff is related to the Waldmire Family, the original founders and owners. Ed Waldmire is generally regarded as the father of the Cozy Dog. A... More

The place is fun to see. They had some cool stuff to look at. The food is typical fast food fare. Still fun for a visit.
