This was a surprise stop on our trip, not planed. We sat inside in the extremely cozy sofa filled rooms. There is also a very nice outdoor seating area. Had some paninis, which were very good and came with a huge and delicious salad. finished...off with some espressos and a carrot cake. highly recommend this place for some relaxing atmosphere. definitely going back there. Last but not least, the staff is very friendly and helpful.More
A rave party for the eyes! Let your eyes bounce around the fully decorated rooms, going from Mexico to Greenland in a second. Look at the plush pink unicorn and the Buddha behind it. This place loves you. Also the food is great.
The owner opened earlier for us when she saw us waiting :-). We got amazing veggie soup and the best vegan banana cake EVER. Inside it's like a comfy shabby chic living room, and outside there's a super cute terrace. There's also a little shop...with all kinds of pretty little things. Loved the place! Highly recommended!More
Me and my partner stumbled across this gorgeous little cafe when we were staying near Reykholt and it was so good we had to come back the next day! The staff were very sweet and the atmosphere was so welcoming and cosy, we didn't want...to leave! Filled with comfy sofas and chairs and blankets with a lovely view of the mountains. There were plenty of books and activities to do too which was a lovely touch. The drinks were to die for, we had hot chocolate, mocha and the herbal tea and was so satisfied with them, especially the mocha. We also had the cheese and vegetable panini, garlic bread and Belgian waffle and wasn't at all disappointed. So delicious and satisfying! The garlic bread was my favourite.More
This was our first visit to this amazing little, unique and welcoming cafe. We were introduced to this well established coffee shop by our Icelandic family who are friends with the owners.
The atmosphere is relaxing, the views out towards the nearby mountain are spectacular...and oh my, the apple pie has to be the best I have ever had the pleasure to pass my lips.
The staff couldn't do enough to make us feel at home and I don't use that word lightly, home is exactly how it feels. You'll understand when you get there.
We had the honour of meeting the owners, who again were so friendly and warm, but this is Icelandic people for you.
Just remember when you are visiting Iceland, the cost of luxuries like this are going to probably be more than you may be used to paying for, but you can't put a price on an experience like this.
Enjoy and love life.More
Some of our group had to separate and head to Reykjavik early, leaving me to drive down from Husafell right after a heavy snow with just my kids in the car. By the time we hit Borgarnes I had to have a break... We passed...a couple truck stoppy looking places just over the bridge but I pressed on, turning down a side street in search of a darling little coffee shop. Of course if we had an international phone we could have just looked it up, but we followed our noses and Blom was exactly the respite we needed. Comfy couches, little private nooks, and a fun gift shop for what turned out to be the only shopping we would have time for. Hot chocolate with fresh whipped cream and chocolate shavings. It was like medicine. My only request: add some books to the inventory, we were in search of Icelandic prose.More
