This was our second time camping here and it is a treasure. Superb Food, camp in a sheltered Greeenhouse, excellent common room with cooking amenities if you wish to cook. Berger (the Owner and his Wife) prepare daily soups served with bread that are incredible. Will be returning in a few months and will stay/camp here again. I give this establishment 5-Stars and encourge you to sample their restaurant, you will be glad you did. Warm regards and enjoy beautiful Iceland. Dave Gonzalves

Fortunately this was the only restaurant open in the area despite the massive pandemic restrictions during this period. We had a tomato soup for starter and fish and chips for main which was both really good, fries that came with the fish were super quality. The staff were very jolly.

We were staying at the nearby Fosshotel Reykholt, but since we dislike hotel restaurants, which tend to be bland and expensive, we dug around and found this gem. Biggi, the owner, cordially helped us to select tasty beers from the nearby brewer. Then we enjoyed good dnners— (1) great fish & chips with a small, very fresh salad (2) light, healthy, full flavored soup with a sandwich on the side. This restaurant is charming, well designed, and well worth a stop near Reykholt or Krauma.

In casual and actually cosy surroundings you will get the probably most disappointing meal you will ever get in Iceland. I chose the soup buffet. Two out of three soups were actually decent but the bread served on the side was partly frozen and nuked until chewy and uneatable in the microwave. My children ordered pizza and chicken nuggets that obviously also came directly from the freezer. My wife had a lamb wrap that looked like it was thrown on the plate. Absolutely no sense of detail or love for food . The decorations on the table was actually a piece of rotten kale in a vase. It was all served by a waiter with grease stains on his shirt and holes in his sweat pants… don’t go there no matter how hungry you are. I don’t care if they grow their own vegetables. If they have no love for the food they serve they probably shouldn’t.

I visited Hverinn on a Sunday afternoon with my family and friends and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the place with some good burgers and fries. I really loved the amenities for children to play and the restrooms are especially nice and clean. This is a hidden gem :)

This is a really great place, on the road back from "Into the Glacier" attraction. It's conveniently located on the main road, with lots of parking. The people there give you a very homey feeling, and the food is also quite good: We enjoyed the soup buffet and also the very good fish and chips. Also has dishes suitable for picky children.

We had a dinner in this restaurant and it was a very jice surprise. The soup buffet is extremely good also because it is made with vegetable produce by the restaurant. The rest of the menu is base in sandwiches of various type. In any case it is ery good and recommended and the price is lower than the standard in iceland

Coming back from the Viögelmir lava worm, we stumbled on this quiet, unpreposing gem. We both had soup. Both the carrot soup and mushroom soup were divine with wonderfully made local bread. The price was veryreasonable and the friendliness of the owner and staff were fantastic. The lava tunnel is a long way off the Ring Road and the delightful fare at this eatery is a great way to break up the drive.

We stumbled upon this gem on our way back from the glacier. We all had the fish and chips along with the fresh mushroom soup and all were excellent. The fish batter was crispy and light and the fish fresh. Along with the hot fries and fish came a tasry light slaw like salad. The best part was the service provided by the owner. Thanks for the fishing advice and a lovely meal after a long day.

We dined here 2 days in a row with our two teenagers. It has friendly staff and a cosy, family atmosphere with unique and interesting decor. We really enjoyed delicious and generous portions of fish and chips, burgers and a lamb wrap. The kids loved the chocolate cake and we had pleasant beer and wine. Nothing fancy but good food done well in relaxed surroundings. We took a short drive here rather than eat fancier more expensive food at our hotel.

I went there with a family group. First thing the waiter and/or the “chef” were so rude. They did not meet our expectations or standards. Food was not good more or less frozen food, we got over cooked chicken in the salad and the wraps were dry. Weird vibe all over. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. We did not talk to them about our experience because how they treated us in the beginning and it would just go through the other end with them. Everything seemed clean though. Shame that they could definitely make this place a better restaurant just by being a little open minded and polite.

This is an adorable restaurant, owned by a husband and wife team who grow all the vegetables in the greenhouse. I tried a trio of soups (carrot, mushroom and tomato) and they were all amazing. It's a lovely setting with a relaxed vibe. Highly recommend.

Quaint little place. Lovely owner. Good food. Loved the mushroom soup. Fish and chips was also very nice and crispy. Fish could use some more spices but thats just my Indian taste buds talking

Terrific. They have a modest menu however I went for an unlimited soup buffet. They had Mushroom, Carrot and then Tomatoe. All ingredients sourced locally and all were amazing. Mushroom was my favourite. Chocolate Cake with cream was staggeringly good. Light and clearly very fresh. Soup (unlimited) was ISK 2,500 the cake ISK 650. Considering the price of food in Iceland and the exceptional quality I thought this a complete bargain.

We called ahead and made a reservation, just to be safe, and they had a table reserved for us with a nice candle set on it. Lots of options on the menu, 3 soups to choose from in buffet. Our waitress was very friendly and we had great service! I loved my burger and my friend said the mushroom soup was the best she’s ever had!
