We came there yesterday for a treat in a super weather and beautiful surroundings. We had the fish buffet with the soup of the day. A little bit of everything on the buffet made it a perfect meal. I recommend this for the one who...wants to sample the things Iceland has to offer.More

We stopped here randomly on the way to an impromptu quest to see a waterfall (because it never gets fully dark in July, why not go chasing waterfalls at 10pm?) and chose it purely for its location and potential for a view - and we...were not disappointed. My husband voted Englendingavík his favorite Arctic Char meal, and I agree. I'd love to come back and stay here for longer, as the hotel portion looks adorable and the view is absolutely stunning.More

We had the most amazing meal and service! We ordered the pan crusted char and lamb shank and both were eloquently prepared and served. Our server, Andrew, was friendly, personal and funny!! If you are able to enjoy a drink in the antique top floor...attic, you’ll step back in time and spend lots of moments looking at the different items through the years. We loved the funky antique chairs to enjoy our lager! This is a must stop if your leaving or heading back in to Reykjavik and want the best meal of your trip! Thank you Andrew!!More

We stopped in for dinner while traveling, and so glad we did. The two men who served us were fun and warm. Felt like we were old and dear family members. And the food was fantastic!

I ordered the fish of the day and my husband got the lamb chops. Both were excellent! The service was fast and friendly and they were able to accommodate us and others who didn’t have reservations. It’s a lovely restaurant with a sea side view...to boot.More

The food was provided quickly after ordering, and tasted delicious. The setting was warm, however the waiter was cold.

We had such a great lunch at Englendingavík that we planned a dinner there on the way back from our trip throughout Iceland. The food and the menu were high quality, while the prices were on average (for Iceland). We were lucky enough to be...served by a waiter who made our dinner so enjoyable. The place offers a nostalgic view on the bay, enriching an already wonderful experience.More

We pulled into Borgarnes unsure of what we would find but a short stroll along the water revealed this great restaurant with a funny owner and traditional interiors. We just had lunch but it felt like the perfect place to come back to for dinner...another time. It was a cold day but I would imagine sitting outside this lovely restaurant on the waterfront would be bliss.More

This was a return visit after a wonderful meal in 2020, we were looking forward to great food and it didn’t disappointment. Many thanks to Kari and Andrius for the outstanding welcome, hospitality and to chef for great food. The location is ideal for a...stop over when departing Reykjavik to venture into Iceland or as a treat when returning ( an hour from the city). Outside tables on the shoreline to watch the tide and enjoy a beer ( I recommend the Boli). Lamb shank excellent ( see photo) We needed accommodation and a very reasonably priced room was made available, ideal. Can’t recommend enough. Thank you to the team for your exceptional hospitality, great food and accommodation.More

This restaurant offers a great terasse as well as a cozy inside area. We had a place on the teasse where we had an astonishing view on the sea. Try out the fish menues, I had a salmon filet which was absolutely tasty. Also we...had big fun with our waiter Andres who did an awesome job during this busy evening. Thanks for that! Definitely recommended!More

We where drifting in Borgarnes killing time before going golfing. Saw this place and decided on having lunch. We took the fish of the day. It was good, we might visit again.

Excellent restaurant -- like many places in Borgarnes, this place opens late -- be sure to check hours. We chose the fish soup and "fish of the day" -- all quite good. The smoked salmon starter at a nearby table looked enticing. We had good...service and the view of the water was lovely.More
