Somehow, I never found this place when I spent 20 months in Omaha. What a mistake!
We dropped in for dinner, and this place had good reviews, so we thought let's go!
Romantic restaurants are getting harder to find. Everyone thinks they need bright lights. This place gets it. Dark, secluded booths, small rooms, books on the wall (real books you can read), carpeting. Very nice, very romantic - just what we needed and wanted.
We both ordered steaks and drinks. The salad was very good, and when the steaks arrived, they tasted great.
Our server was very attentive, and kept our water glasses full. She could have done better on the wine glasses.
Speaking of wine, the upcharge from street prices was very reasonable, meaning you get good value for your bottle.
We were quite happy with our meal, and enjoyed it. Nice place - we'll be back the next time we visit Omaha!

I loved our waitress and she is a huge reason we are giving 4 stars. She deserves 10 stars as she was awesome. She was friendly and personable and served with a smile and joy.
The food was not that great. The salad was the only thing we had food wise that we would give five stars. Everything in the salad bar was fresh and tasty. The steak left much to be desired. The cook was spot on as we each ordered our steak medium and it was perfect that way, it just lacked seasoning. The mushrooms seemed to come from a can and they, also, were not seasoned. I could go on and on about the food, but I won't.
Oh, we also loved the ambiance of the steakhouse.

We were looking for something local, not a chain. Read the reviews on Trip Advisor, looked at menus. Although Brother Sebastian's is still somewhat pricey, the food was fantastic. The dinners come with a one-trip salad bar, which is well stocked and has good choices. They also came with bread, choice of potato and vegetable of the day (today was green beans). We made a reservation, as we were advised to when we called the restaurant, but showed up 30 min early and they seated us immediately. Jim was our server, was at the table almost before we were settled. Gave us time to look at the menu but not too much time. I had the Queen's cut prime rib; so many times, prime rib has a lot of fat on it. This DID NOT. It was very tender. The only comment I would make was that there was no seasoning/rub on the outside. That's part of the deliciousness of the prime rib for me! Baked potato. Too much for me to finish. Husband had the NY Strip. First cut was a bit gristly, but states after getting past that it was very tender and cooked perfectly. States the taste of his steak was great. If we were in the area, would definitely go back. The atmosphere is great with the separate rooms, was able to talk without having to yell. Music was background and not over bearing. Jim was great all the way through the meal. Didn't rush, checked on us frequently. Great experience.

The hype is pretty significant for this place, but of all the Omaha steakhouses we visited recently this was our least favorite. Its crowded, they put you in dark dingy rooms, the issue of the "Brothers" is a farce, and you only get the ambience when you come to the front door as some ancient hymns are being chanted. Inside its just another dark place with a few guys walking around with robes on. The Food is similar to other Omaha steakhouses, soft, good, but not great. Its as if they are preparing steak for people who cannot chew anything with texture or crust. The steak exterior was not well prepared, just soft as if cooking occurred in an oven not a hot grill suitable for cooking premier beef. And the "salad" bar is not as good as a Denny's, just a few items.

Labor day weekend, Sunday Night, decided to go out to dinner for our anniversary and we are so very glad we did. It is such a beautiful, romantic, darkly lit place with gorgeously decorated smaller intimate dining rooms. We were in the library room and it was perfect. The food was outstanding. New York strip, baked potato, veggies and fresh bread for me and hubby got the clay chowder to start and then a ribeye with sautéed mushrooms and added a Lobster tail, baked potato and veggies. All of it was on point! Steaks cooked perfectly, Lobster tail was big and melted in your mouth and the sides were perfectly prepared. Wine = excellent. Service = A++++ our server was Paris and she was absolutely terrific. So friendly, informative and gave great suggestions for some desserts to take home as well. She checked on us numerous times, had a huge smile on her face and made it a great visit. Go check them out. Worth every single cent and thensome!

We spent a week visiting Omaha and wanted to try Omaha beef. Menu choices, ambiance, plenty of free parking, positive reviews, and reasonable prices led us to Brother Sebastian's Steakhouse. Our meals and service were so good we decided to return the next night. The New York Strip and Filet were perfection. Most restaurants with this quality beef are ala carte. Instead, our meal included warm bread, salad bar, potato, and vegetable - all delicious. One local couple we met said they have been coming for 31 years, and they have never been disappointed.

We were warmly greeted and promptly seated in one of the charming alcoves located throughout the restaurant, which allowed us to carry on a conversation with our friends without outside noise. The wine and drink selection was extensive, and I can highly recommend the pear martini!
The menu offered meat, seafood and pasta selections, which suited our group perfectly. I ordered the chicken with fettuccine option, which was very good. Each meal comes with a walk through salad bar visit, which is a meal in itself. The desert options looked wonderful, but our meal was enough.
Brother Sebastian's is an experience, not just a restaurant, and the menu has offerings for any budget.

Visiting from out of town. Had a reservation seated promptly but probably 10 minutes before server came by. Several times during the meal we asked for something and had to remind the server to get what was requested. The salad bar was very good, you don’t find many restaurants that have salad bars anymore. We both had the Prime Rib and was excellent. We will come back on a future visit to Omaha.

Brother Sebastian's was recommended to us and it was an excellent recommendation! We made reservations (recommended) and arrived a bit before our reserved time. We were greeted by a friendly host and seated soon after. Our waitress brought glasses of water very quickly asking if there was anything else we'd like to drink. We ordered our meals and made our way to the salad bar (which was delicious). The steaks and sides were exceptional and our waitress was very attentive. We will definitely visit this establishment again when we are in the Omaha area.

The environment here is a great blend of serious and a little lighthearted. Just a fun place for a business dinner. I believe our server was Greg and he was outstanding. Got the job done efficiently but also explained everything well and was very pleasant to visit with. Dinner started with a great salad bar. The espresso martini was really well done. The smoked salmon appetizer was fair, not great. My medium rare prime rib was simply perfect. I generally save some for home, but I couldn't help but devour almost the entire king cut. The mashed potatoes were really good. Finished up with the really tasty cinnamon cheesecake. Brother Sebastians matches any of the great steakhouses I visit around the country with a far more reasonably priced menu and a unique atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Decent meal. Bread tasted like it was made early this morning. NY strip was ok, cooked as requested but not a prime cut. Nice salad bar mask and hand sanitizer required but large group after me not one sanitized their hands. Neat atmosphere, once was nice probably not again.

First time visit. Came here for our anniversary. Ordered my steak medium well and my wife ordered hers medium. The steaks were served medium rare and rare respectively. Very undercooked and certainly not what we ordered. First and last time here. Will not be returning. For the price, it would seem that they could cook a steak to order. Very disappointed

My wife and I were looking for a nice night out while visiting Omaha. Brother Sebastian's looked interesting. We went on a weeknight, expecting a crowd, but were able to be seated immediately. The ambience was wonderful . . . We were seated in a library room, which was a bit dark, but you go along with it, knowing the theme of the restaurant. We loved it.
We had prime rib and steaks. They were excellent, cooked perfectly. The salad bar was a nice bonus. As other reviews have suggested, our server was not particularly attentive (sounds like perhaps the same person mentioned in other reviews). But it did not ruin our experience by any means. Highly recommend for ambience and a good meal.

My family and I had a pleasant dining experience at Brother Sebastian's Steakhouse. From the cocktails and appetizers to the expertly cooked steaks and baked desserts, we had no complaints. The decor of the restaurant is downright interesting as you are eating in different rooms of an imagined monastery. This is definitely a local gem for Omaha and the Midwest. And you can't be having a steak in Omaha!

Brother Sebastians is an unassuming restaurant in a strip mall with the Monk Chanting music playing as you enter this incredible supper club. Small quaint rooms to replicate a monastery, we were seated in what looked like a chapel with stained glass windows. Two of us ordered the 16 oz Prime Rib and the other two had the Stuffed Shrimp with crab. The meals were absolute perfection and the salad bar was so, so good! Fresh lettuce and condiments and variety of dressings. Highly recommend to anyone visiting or living there! We had great service and our cocktails were very reasonable. Enjoy!!!
