We were in Omaha for 1 day and chose this as our steak dinner based on the trip advisor reviews. We called ahead and were able to get a same day reservation on a Sunday night. The restaurant was about 15 minute drive from our...downtown hotel. The outside of the building doesn’t look like much but the inside was cozy and comfortable. The food was excellent and the service was great. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food/experience. We would definitely visit again in in the area.More

First time visit. Came here for our anniversary. Ordered my steak medium well and my wife ordered hers medium. The steaks were served medium rare and rare respectively. Very undercooked and certainly not what we ordered. First and last time here. Will not be returning....For the price, it would seem that they could cook a steak to order. Very disappointedMore

Waiters dressed like monks? OK, the place doesn't take itself too seriously, but if you want a great steak and great service this is the place. This was the highlight of our work week for a group of contractors working at Offutt AFB. We had...a wonderful meal with excellent atmosphere, service and food quality. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Some people might say a salad bar is a disqualifier for a fine dining experience, perhaps I'm old fashioned but I think the salad bar here works quite well. The fresh bread served at the table was adequate but could be improved. The bread pudding for desert should not be passed up.More

I was here a few months ago with a large group and had a great experience. This time I took my spouse for a late lunch. Even better, if possible! There are several small dining rooms, each with a slightly different atmosphere: all are warm,...intimate, private & with their own fireplace. Just the spot for a romantic meal - even for lunch. Food is excellent. We both had the salad bar. She is gluten-free & loved her kabobs. My sandwich was very good & more than enough. Our server, Nicole, was friendly, attentive, & gracious. It is recommended to call ahead for reservations. We did, & got what we wanted.More

My wife and I were looking for a nice night out while visiting Omaha. Brother Sebastian's looked interesting. We went on a weeknight, expecting a crowd, but were able to be seated immediately. The ambience was wonderful . . . We were seated in a...library room, which was a bit dark, but you go along with it, knowing the theme of the restaurant. We loved it. We had prime rib and steaks. They were excellent, cooked perfectly. The salad bar was a nice bonus. As other reviews have suggested, our server was not particularly attentive (sounds like perhaps the same person mentioned in other reviews). But it did not ruin our experience by any means. Highly recommend for ambience and a good meal.More

Had lunch there with a group of 14 friends. Despite little advance notice from us, they made room for us & were very accommodating. And this was during a busy Holiday season Wednesday lunch hour. Considering the crowds at that time of day, the service...was quite good. The server was very attentive, even though she had a lot going on. She even brought a refill without me asking. The meal was great! Our group ordered everything from steak to stroganoff, soup to salad bar. I had a Reuben with fries. (It was invented in Omaha, you know.) The corned beef, everything about it, was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The building is subdivided into various smaller rooms of different sizes. Each has a fireplace & the warm cozy feeling of an old quality steakhouse. Nicely decorated for the Holidays, without overdoing it. In keeping with the name they even had Gregorian chant piped outdoors as you enter/exit. Cool touch! I'd definitely return.More

Came here based on Tripadvisor recommendations. We were disappointed to say the least. We were in Nebraska, my 50th state, and were in search of the perfect steak and chose to eat here. I loved the ambiance, the friar clothing and the religious music piped...in, but the food and the server's attitude was a complete failure. Wifey and I both ordered Filet Mignons and they very virtually tasteless. They were quite pricey and we both left feeling greatly disappointed with our meal and our service. Server never came back after bringing our food to see if everything was okay. She seemed too preoccupied in other things. We had to practically beg her to bring us water. Salad bar was okay, it would have been nice to go back a second time. Sorry, but we won't be back. Find your perfect steak elsewhere.More

Visiting from out of town. Had a reservation seated promptly but probably 10 minutes before server came by. Several times during the meal we asked for something and had to remind the server to get what was requested. The salad bar was very good, you...don’t find many restaurants that have salad bars anymore. We both had the Prime Rib and was excellent. We will come back on a future visit to Omaha.More

When I think of a steakhouse, I don’t think of servers wearing friar clothing. Steaks & service were ok. The facilities were dated.

Traveling through Omaha we thought we should taste something beef while in town. After reading the Trip Advisor reviews we selected Brother Sebastians Steakhouse & Winery. The reviews were spot on! We visited for lunch at 12 noon on a Tuesday. We got a table...very quickly. Our waitress was Nicole. She was very quick at taking our orders and getting the lovely wine. We were surprised to see a salad bar. Haven’t seen those for a while and really like them. The choices were very good. I had Queen Cut Prime Rib and my husband had the Petite Filet. Both were excellent. Nicole was very attentive and friendly. The food was wonderful. We would definitely stop again if in town.More

Very dark and struggled to see. We were led to a room with a fireplace. It was so dark I asked the waitress if the fireplace could be turned on and she said the boss was too cheap to turn it on in the summer....Waitress made her rounds in our room . . . literally walking around the unlit fireplace in the little room we were in with six tables. She wasn't super helpful with the menu or location of salad bar room. Hubby and I both had steaks - prime rib and ribeye steak. Potatoes were good. The veggie was zucchini and watery and bland. (I envisioned the cheap boss saying "zuchhini is what's in season and cheap, serve that!") We didn't linger and enjoy the dining experience here. I think people like the food here. It got busy.More

Labor day weekend, Sunday Night, decided to go out to dinner for our anniversary and we are so very glad we did. It is such a beautiful, romantic, darkly lit place with gorgeously decorated smaller intimate dining rooms. We were in the library room and...it was perfect. The food was outstanding. New York strip, baked potato, veggies and fresh bread for me and hubby got the clay chowder to start and then a ribeye with sautéed mushrooms and added a Lobster tail, baked potato and veggies. All of it was on point! Steaks cooked perfectly, Lobster tail was big and melted in your mouth and the sides were perfectly prepared. Wine = excellent. Service = A++++ our server was Paris and she was absolutely terrific. So friendly, informative and gave great suggestions for some desserts to take home as well. She checked on us numerous times, had a huge smile on her face and made it a great visit. Go check them out. Worth every single cent and thensome!More

We went to Sebastian’s for our wedding anniversary. The service and food was fantastic. Our waiter Jim was one of the best waiters we’ve ever had. He was timely with everything. The prime rib was superb. My wife’s sirloin was the best she’s ever had....Reasonable prices. Fantastic staff.More

The atmosphere is old monastery. I expected a Franciscan munk to wait on us. Our server was fantastic. She was in control and guided through the process. You can have you prime rib with auju or with a creamy hollandaise and mushroom sauce. Fabulous! It's...a little pricey but well worth it. I had enough to take home for a couple of meals. So far, the best dining experience I've had in Omaha. Highly recommendMore

I 'd check with management. You can probably make a reservation for a party of 40, but I don't know that you would be accommodated in a private room. Part of the pleasure of eating there is making your way to the room full... More
