Had my favorite dish the parmesan encrusted chicken breast. Other guests were equally satisfied with their dish.
I love apple pie, so I got their new dessert Fuji Apple pie to go. When I got home and opened it I was really surprised. I was...expecting a flaky pie crust with a apple filling. This was a large piece of hard (not flaky) pastry with about a spoonful of apple filling! This is the worst excuse for apple pie I have ever experienced. The crust was too hard and dry to be edible. I ate the spoonful of apple filing (over seasoned) and threw the large piece of crust in the garbage.
The people in the kitchen probably said "Lets run this frozen *&%$ through the microwave, drizzle some caramel over it and call it a gourmet dessert!More
Tried brunch here for the first time recently. Very impressed. A good selection of food. My wife enjoyed her omelette with goat cheese and asparagus. Her sister had a good looking Cuban sandwich. My eggs and bacon were accompanied by two potato pancakes. Really tasty....Good drink selection. Excellent service. Fair prices. Recommended.More
This restaurant was a real disappointment. Before we made our reservation for Christmas Eve dinner, we checked out the menu and a few reviews. Menu choices looked interesting, prices were high which gave us the impression that it would be a NICE PLACE with ambiance,...attentive staff, and delicious, nuanced food.
It was not.
First off, is it a sports bar or a nice restaurant?? The prices would make you think NICE RESTAURANT, but the televisions would lead you to sway towards sports bar... Awkward.
The staff was extremely inattentivie. We got one dish before a side dish, and had to ask twice before we finally got the side (which was after half of the main was already eaten).
The food was nothing special. Prices was too high for what they serve. Staff bored and unfriendly. Atmosphere nothing special.
I am not sure why this place turns up high on the list for Omaha places to eat. There are many other places in town that are much, much better.
Skip the Railcar. There's nothing modern or "test kitchen" about it.More
Sunday brunch was a busy time to make a first visit, but a reservation certainly helped. Food was tasty and ample. The staff was good and generally available. Overall, a reasonable option for a couple or a family who want brunch, though not in our...top ten in Omaha.More
Nothing extraordinary about the food at this place and the service is pretty bad. Patronizing servers with no interest in helping. The lavash took so long to get to our table that it came very soggy. The scallops tasted like rubber and we could not...say anything as the server did not check back at all, not even to offer more drinks. The rib plate was OK but it seemed expensive. The mark up on wine seems too high. A bottle of Terra de Oro Zinfandel is about $15 at wine.com. This place sells it for $65. Needless to say, we would not be back.More
The restaurant looks nothing special, however, the food and service make up for that once inside. There is a good range of food on the menu and our group ordered a selection of appetisers which both seafood and meat dishes were really tasty. I ordered...the lobster bisque, which was very good, but for some reason came out somewhile after the group had first had their appetisers. For main I had the steak medallions which were cooked to my taste. The portions are generous and we genuinely could not eat dessert as we were well filled. There is a good choice of beers and wines and our server alerted us to a wine deal that was running.More
