Hubby and I tried this place based on reviews and it was a win! We shared the spinach-artichoke dip which was to die for! Best we've ever had! We also shared the gnocchi which was delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

My husband and I went in for dinner on a Sunday after putting in a google search for best downtown restaurant’s. Menu looked good so I called to make a reservation and I’m happy I did. On the phone they said they were open until...9, so I made a reservation at 8. We got there at 7:45 and there were a few tables outside- not much social distancing and tons of tables inside. So they let us pick our table which when getting up to it, we found that it had not been cleaned - a tad unsettling in the times we’re living in- (a pandemic) and believe me they had nothing going on, so plenty of time to take care of! I also understand that saying that I’m choosing to dine out during this time. This was our one dining out dinner in Nebraska and we were hoping we chose wisely and we were let down by this starting off. Believe me when I say we take all the proper precautions and live with hand sanitizer on us at all times, which we used quite a bit in here!!! I was also turned off by the fact that it was all gentleman working and they all had a blase’ attitude about pretty much everything. I found it also a bit disturbing that a set of two ladies walked up about 5 til 8 and they told them they were closed as we had just put our order in and we’re told they were open til 9. Then a 6 top was turned away and then another 2 top all by 8:15. That’s 10 people they turned service down by 8:15 because they choose to close early- seems crazy when so many businesses are struggling after being shut down for so long!! Means we would of been turned away at 8 had I not called to make a reservation😳. Made me feel like we were about to get a mediocre dining experience and I was correct. I will say Zane our server was very nice. That’s really the only saving grace. So about our food experience. We first ordered the bruschetta and poutine. Bruschetta was served cold( it’s suppose to be hot) and had no flavor but looked delicious and the poutine was good but drenched in gravy. We then order for dinner- myself the beef tortilla app and shrimp scampi, I did also order a French onion soup but it never came and I decided not to mention it, just wanted to get in and out. My two apps were tasty but my husband ordered the $38 ribeye and what a WASTE of money. It seriously had absolutely noooooo flavor and was drenched in the same gravy as the the poutine app- super disappointing. It did have a herb butter on top that also had no flavor and barely melted which is also disturbing. There were some mushrooms and crispy onions served on top, but nothing my husband did made it taste any better. He finished my apps and left most of his steak. You would think our server would maybe notice and ask but he didn’t other then you want that boxed up and we didn’t say anything but politely said no and asked for our check. We just wanted to pay and go. The sad thing was when the check was presented he gave us the Andy’s mint chocolates and we were excited about them because we know they taste good. He even noticed our excitement and gave us more. I just honestly feel like we wasted $120 of hard earned money on a very sad dinner. I’m hoping we just got them on a bad night well obviously a night they just wanted to get out of there but so sad about the food!!More

We visited on Monday afternoon during happy hour (3-6PM) and found this place to be mostly empty. That was fine with us since we were able to sit at the bar and visit with the friendly bartender, Colin. During happy hour, craft beer bottles and...glasses of wine are $1 off along with $2 off martinis & cocktails and some appetizer specials. I ordered the Devils Gap jalapeño beer ($4.50), and my wife tried the Sun Drop cocktail ($8) which was made with both orange and mandarin vodka. The Devils Gap beer had a jalapeño aroma and taste without being spicy. It was very good, and I would order it again. My wife was not that fond of the flavor of her cocktail and would order something else when we return.More

Supper with family and friends at Jackson Street Tavern was excellent! The servers were very attentive, and because of the time we are living in (COVID-19), all employees were wearing masks. All tables were clearly separated from other tables and guests. Drinks and food orders...were made to satisfy! Thank you for a really nice evening in your restaurant. I would love to return and try many more menu items. My wife and I certainly recommend the JST! Saturday, May 30, 2020 Downtown Riot~ As we began to leave, two employees told us that a riot had broken out a couple blocks away. They wished us well and to get out of Downtown quickly. Their concerns were genuine and certainly appreciated. As we stepped out of the restaurant, you could smell burning rubber. You could see the bright lights of the Omaha Police Department vehicles flashing two blocks away. You could hear several small explosions. Police were in our area telling business to close up! Police helped to barricade the door of a business. Wow! Was this really happening? We just arrived in Omaha today and this is something you can’t ever forget. #weneedtobebetterMore

Have eaten dinner at Jackson Street Tavern several times over the years. Arrived early for dinner on this recent visit, and was seated immediately. I normally the order the steak frites entree, but wanted to try something different, so went with a classic fish n'...chips. This consisted of several strips of cod. I found the breading way too thick, nearly the thickness of the fish itself, and on the greasy side. Homemade fries with peel were very good, as usual. Coleslaw was average - definitely on the dry side, though. The pasta with red cream sauce and chicken entree was lukewarm and low on flavor. Not worth the $23 menu price for the quantity and quality of food served.More

Stopped in around 8:00 New Years Eve and place was relatively quiet, waited for hostess longer than customary and this was the theme for the service the entire time, staff didn’t acknowledge me at the bar for nearly 10 minutes. They need to step up...their game on the service side. Food was pretty good but not exceptional, steak was cooked perfectly but was tough, I don’t think was a prime cut. Martini was good and properly poured. Not bad but overall could be improved.More

I loved this place and it would be a favorite if I lived in town. It’s a tavern - as the name indicates - but our food was aaaaahmazing! 3 of us ordered different items and all were fabulous. Osso buco , bolognese, and fish...‘n chips! Wow! Drinks were great - lived their Moscow mule but the food was the standout!More

Friendly staff. Average choices on the menu. Restroom is in the mall next door. Found the prices were a little on the high side. No wifi. A few choices of draught beer.

We heard this place had great food and good beverages. We came in on a friday evening, only a few guests, lots of empty tables. We were sat quickly in the dining room and given menus and water...….then for over 20 minutes no one even...looked our direction. The staff was busy speaking to each other but, hardly acknowledged our existenece. We ended up leaving without so much as a peep from the staff. We found some place near by that wanted our business and had a much better experience. Too bad they didn't live up to the hype.More
