When I'm in Anchorage, I stop by New Sagaya and pick up things for dinner. The produce is gorgeous; the fish is fresher than fresh; everything is top drawer.

On July 24, 2016 I went to New Sagaya Market @ midtown specifically to buy seafood. I purchased red salmon, halibut, salmon caviar, picked tuna ( spicy poku), and Alaskan shrimp ( cooked ). My expectations were all things Alaskan, all fresh. Pickled tuna tasted great, as well as the fish and caviar. The shrimps were a totally different story... More

This is a great shopping facility. You can buy pastries/ breads or something from the prepared food bar for breakfast or lunch as well as a hot drink and sit outside in the sun or inside. There were lots of locals having coffee mornings, people of all ages, eating their breakfast or lunches. They had a good selection of seafood,... More

We knew of New Sagaya's because of hits proximity to the Inlet Tower, who recommended them for coffee. On this trip, we stopped by for some soda for our hotel room, and found that they process whole salmon, vacuum pack and ship. Not sure if the price of the salmon ($10.99 / lb. for fresh king) was a special or... More

We were told by the bus driver to try seafood here. There are two tuna dishes (one original and one spicy) along with kettle fish. They all are delicious with reasonable price. I wish they offer more different dishes because the chef did a good job to prepare both tuna and kettle fish.

New Sagaya's is a grocery store featuring fresh fish and vegetables. It is a little pricey but carries a lot of good products. We stocked our camper for a trip while we were there. The "pokey" (a raw tuna salad) was delicious. It comes in both spicy and not spicy and is freshly made at the fish counter. We also... More

Visit at least once each month I visit. Love to get some fish to take back to the lower 48. People are really friendly. Salad bar is fresh.

Produce section is small but the quality is better than many stores. It is a bit pricey but organic always is. The fresh fish are great and of good quality. Overall a good local store.

The City Market is one of two New Sagaya locations in the Great North's largest city -- and being located close to downtown, it is one of our favorite spots to eat lunch (they have a great salad bar & hot deli), drink coffee (Kaladi Brothers), snack on a yummy pastry (L'Aroma made), and meet folks. There is lots of... More
