Not much for a meal type store, but it does have a deli and cooler items to offer. A bit pricy, but so is all of Alaska. More of a Convenience Store than restaurant type. Good for a quick sandwich or cooler food.
I stopped in for a quick breakfast burrito. They have a surprisingly good selection of different burritos in the cooler (even vegetarian). The cashier was nice enough to warm up my burrito in the microwave and then put it on the grill to crisp it...up. It's a good place to stop for an inexpensive meal - especially if you're going to/from the Tony Knowles trail.
The convenience store was well stocked compared to others I'd see downtown. You'll still pay higher prices but if you're in a pinch this place probably has what you need / forgot.More
The staff is always friendly and upbeat. I love my BBQ chicken burrito bowls from here for lunch. If you are traveling and realize you have forgotten something, this place probably has it. Seriously, they have everything you might need; there are not any other...stores downtown like this one.More
This place is a little retain hole in the wall between the Captain Cook parking garage and the hotel. They are really the only convenience store downtown and carry a lot of different things, some of which are fairly spendy (if you compare to going...to Costco) but you can buy one or two instead of 12. The best part however is that they offer reasonably priced hot food to go. You can get a salad or a burrito or bowl of soup for less than $7 which is unheard of downtown and it tastes good. I frequently buy lunch here. I also like that they carry fresh fruit. Their customer service sometimes leaves a bit to be desired but the price makes it worth putting up with.More
If I'm in a hurry and want to grab a deli sandwich on the go I swing into K Street Deli when I'm in downtown Anchorage. The staff is friendly and always helpful. The food is freshly made and affordable for downtown Anchorage.
We wanted to buy snacks for the train. This place serves the Captain Cook Hotel (across the street) retired cruise passenger set who need cookies, chips, bug spray, and dental floss. It's stocked with a huge number of small items. Every one is priced at...two to three times retail. Kirkland granola bars go for $2.50 a piece. 6 oz of beef jerky costs $8. A roll of crackers is $6. These products are all available at Costco for less than half the price. If money is no object, this is the place for you.More
