Heard all kinds of good things about this restaurant. Lots of Alaska Themed decorations. Food was OK, could have been better with some better quality ingredients. Processed cheese instead of real cheese. Low quality coffee.

We visited this place because it was said to be the best place to eat in Anchorage.. It wasn't really.

This is my go to place for local breakfast or brunch. I always leave full and satisfied, and their pricing isn't too bad either.

Their coffee is pretty weak and the reindeer sausage omelet would have been tons better with real cheese instead of processed cheese sauce. The wait staff was friendly and dressed up as saloon ladies for Fur Rondy. Next time I will stick with my favorite there, eggs Benedict with home fries, which are always good!

Pretty much as the title says. I'm never blown away by many breakfast places in Anchorage, but I would place Gwenny's maybe one step above Village Inn. The food I got was your average bland omelet brealfast. The coffee is hot and orange juice is good, can't complain there. Pretty good hangover food if you're into that sort of thing.

Gwennies Old Alaska Restaurant is named correctly. This place is a wonderful throwback to when Anchorage wasn't Seattle North. The food is good and the wait staff professional. Some of these gals have been working here for years. Don't be in a hurry and walk around and view the many unique items on display. This place is known for its... More

The steak and eggs are the best in the state. The while wheat toast is delicious. The staff and decor are great as well.

We had breakfast items which were cooked correctly and large portions. Prompt service and wide variety of Alaskana. Place mats have an educational map of Alaska. 4 stars is probably high rating but it is exactly what it advertises. A city icon and a must if you are interested in a hearty breakfast!

Gwennies is full of tradition, and they give u huge portions, which makes up for its lack of taste. And the whole thing looks like it needs updating. ;)

Try the biscuits and gravy~ :D or the steak and eggs! Fast service and friendly!! While waiting, browse the decor or make a wish in the bear "pond" on the first floor.
