Its been a year or so since I've been here. The halibut sandwich is still delicious! It comes with fresh cut french fries (not frozen). The halibut it fresh daily which is such a treat. There are many other items on the list but I have only had the halibut. Lunch is a very busy time. They are usually open... More

We fell across this cafe while searching for the local delicacy .. Halibut. Owner and staff were very welcoming and cooked us great meals .. The blackened halibut (Cajun spices, grilled) and unsliced halibut on coleslaw. Both were wonderful. Local beers were also great Meals were well priced at $18 and we enjoyed their local stories.

This small, funky café has some great food. Four of us had the haddock sandwiches for lunch and everyone loved them. The service was excellent as well. It's a busy place so get there early if you want a table.

Great breakfast with rain deer sausage. Great people, great breakfast, well priced! A real local place. We will come back after a Denali trip.

We asked a local where to eat. He told us the White Spot Café in downtown Anchorage. It was the best hamburger we have ever had. Just a small café with great old time music and the staff was fantastic. Not fancy but really good.

The food was good and the service was great. Big portions of food. It reminded me of some places at home where the locals eat and have coffee.

A small local spot on w 4th and A streets. Terrific food staff was fantastic. Cook even strolled over with a question on how exactly I wanted my eggs. Busy spot but no wait. Prices average for area. $$$

If you visit the White Spot which has excellent breakfasts and hamburgers, be sure to tell Rachel hello and give her a good tip. She and her husband are spending the summer in Anchorage earning money for graduate school. This is a small town bar and grill a few blocks from the busy downtown. It is where the locals eat... My wife and I loved this place. It is not the tourist trap a few blocks away. The Halibut was lightly breaded and crisp. Be aware, they close at 3:00 p.m. This place was recommended to us by the our guides on a Wilderness Gold Panning excursion up at the McKinley Princess Lodge.

Wonderful little spot for breakfast or lunch. Well known to locals. Was turned on to this place years ago by an Anchorage police detective, and have been eating here at least once every time we're in town ever since. All the food is good, but I have to order the halibut plate each time. Big meaty pieces of fish, fried... More
