Ate lunch here on a local recommendation. The place is old, dated, mildly unsavory looking. Fact is, that all adds to the charm of it. I ordered the halibut plate. The fish was white, light, fluffy, and breaded to perfection. A golden brown very light breading that didn't take away from the fish. The plate came with fries and coleslaw.... More

Halibut, halibut, halibut. The White Spot is my favorite place for 30 years to get a halibut sandwich. Always fresh and perfectly cooked. Home made fries are great as well. Burgers also good but not the same as halibut. Dine in or take out. Convienent downtown location. Making myself hungry just thinking about it.

This is a second visit after several years. Still good. Fish and Chips, as well as hamburgers, are worth the drive into town for. This is kind of a hole-in-the-wall type cafe, out of the way but very popular with those in the know. It is low key, but service is good, and friendly and the food excellent.

We stopped there because it was packed and apparently a local favorite. The Breakfast was Good, The decor is in desperate need of attention.

This is kind of like the Cheers of Anchorage burger joints. It's eclectic, has the expected menu of burgers, fries and the like, but it's just always darn good food. You can't go wrong with a restaurant that is dependable and serves up food that your kids love, your parents love, and that you enjoy. Cute and kitschy - well... More

We ate a lot of fish on our Alaska vacation and this little gem served the best fried halibut. Tasty coleslaw and crispy skin on fries completes the plate. Be sure to try the blueberry shake and don't clog your straw with one of the chunks of blueberry. Service was fast and friendly. Just listen to all the locals surrounding... More

Downtown with easy parking. Doesn't look like much on the outside but the food was excellent especially the fish and chips and the staff was super friendly.

Decent food. Breakfast was good. Returned for their famous halibut, which was great! Not many breakfast restaurants in downtown.

Its been a year or so since I've been here. The halibut sandwich is still delicious! It comes with fresh cut french fries (not frozen). The halibut it fresh daily which is such a treat. There are many other items on the list but I have only had the halibut. Lunch is a very busy time. They are usually open... More

We fell across this cafe while searching for the local delicacy .. Halibut. Owner and staff were very welcoming and cooked us great meals .. The blackened halibut (Cajun spices, grilled) and unsliced halibut on coleslaw. Both were wonderful. Local beers were also great Meals were well priced at $18 and we enjoyed their local stories.
