Excellent atmosphere and the drinks were good. The food was average. They are currently practicing limited COVID safety. There was hand sanitizer at the entrance and that is about it. The staff did not wear masks and the waitress stood within three feet or less...of us. Even when I pulled on my mask in her presence, she did not step back. A couple was seated next to us even though there were plenty of tables to practice social distancing. I was really disappointed with their lack of care for customers.More

Good ambience, nice food, friendly staff.... was a good experience overall. Prices a bit steep for the portions.

Food was very good. But it was overpriced. Staff was friendly and service was fast. It is recommended to have reservation but we showed up as a walk-in. We waited less than 15 minutes.

Went to Tequila 61 for dinner. Unique tequila concoctions, nice atmosphere, and good food. Seems like it would be appropriate for many different occasions - we just sat at the bar, but there were a lot of larger groups as well as couples. Also, I'm...vegetarian and had no problem finding something to eat.More

Good food but nothing super special. Comparable to most modern Mexican food places to eat. I would say they are very overpriced with the amount of food you get. Atmosphere is awesome!

We didn’t expect such amazing margaritas and mezcal cocktails in anchorage! Service was great as well. Several good vegetarian dinner options too. Only complaint was when it was busy it was very loud.

I LOVE Mexican food and have found nothing but guac from a plastic container so I was happy to find guac made from scratch! They also do homemade salsa which were tasted. Between our table we had a tortilla soup (delicious but know it’s spicy)...steak tacos, pork tacos (super tasty pickled onions), and pastor (traditional with pineapple, they used chicken instead of port which I’m used to but was an excellent change up).... tacos were great guac was the added bonus!More

As other reviewers have made clear this is not your usual Mexican food restaurant. They take the word cuisine seriously. They take the word service seriously. They understand the potential of Tequila. We had a very "special offering" meal. Beginning with an appetizer of fried...goat cheese with honey and crostini, then sharing a one pound rib eye with Argentine Groucho sauce with sweet pepper, mushrooms and onions, topped off with a unique dessert, Horchata Cornbread  (form of three leeches cake). Drinks were fine, too. Recommended.More

Found this restaurant right downtown by Trolley Tours. Very nouveau Latin cuisine and awesome mixologist cocktails. Tropical margarita was very good. Shrimp bites for an appetizer was a large dish and really well done. Had baked king crab for main course. Beautiful flavors and very...tasty, but small sized legs for king crab. Recommended.More

This downtown restaurant in the heart of the city is special. Yes, by the name, you expect tequila and Mexican food but it is much more. For want of a better term, I call the food Mexican fusion. It serves Mexican food with a taste...and a good use of local foods in the recipes. My iceberg wedge salad had a guajillo blue cheese dressing. The dressing was a nice departure but my wedge was drenched in the dressing. Next time I will ask for the dressing on the side because the salad was really very nice. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her al Pastor (chicken) taco. I had the churro ice cream sandwich for dessert. The huckleberry ice cream was a nice contrast with the sweetness of the churro layers. But the item we remarked upon over and over was the margarita. It is arguably the best margarita to be found in Anchorage! So, this was our first visit. We plan to return several times and work our way through the menu.More
