Building a bridge between traditional Mexican cuisine and the personality of beautiful Anchorage, Tequila 61 embodies what it means to embrace the best of both worlds. Blending time-honored recipes with a modern twist, we fuse the perfect blend of spices with fresh ingredients like Alaskan seafood for entrées authentic in flavor and unique in presentation. Best of all, our mixologists behind the bar are at the ready to help you find the perfect pairing with our craft cocktails, and hand-picked varieties of tequila and mezcal. Using reclaimed materials and unmatched attention to detail, we've built a charmingly rustic atmosphere where good food and good times are always abound.

Food was very good. But it was overpriced. Staff was friendly and service was fast. It is recommended to have reservation but we showed up as a walk-in. We waited less than 15 minutes.

Went to Tequila 61 for dinner. Unique tequila concoctions, nice atmosphere, and good food. Seems like it would be appropriate for many different occasions - we just sat at the bar, but there were a lot of larger groups as well as couples. Also, I'm...More

Good food but nothing super special. Comparable to most modern Mexican food places to eat. I would say they are very overpriced with the amount of food you get. Atmosphere is awesome!

We didn’t expect such amazing margaritas and mezcal cocktails in anchorage! Service was great as well. Several good vegetarian dinner options too. Only complaint was when it was busy it was very loud.

As other reviewers have made clear this is not your usual Mexican food restaurant. They take the word cuisine seriously. They take the word service seriously. They understand the potential of Tequila. We had a very "special offering" meal. Beginning with an appetizer of fried...More

Found this restaurant right downtown by Trolley Tours. Very nouveau Latin cuisine and awesome mixologist cocktails. Tropical margarita was very good. Shrimp bites for an appetizer was a large dish and really well done. Had baked king crab for main course. Beautiful flavors and very...More

This downtown restaurant in the heart of the city is special. Yes, by the name, you expect tequila and Mexican food but it is much more. For want of a better term, I call the food Mexican fusion. It serves Mexican food with a taste...More

Now my wife and I really like interesting and flavorful food, but today’s lunch was beyond good. Mexican-Latin fusion sounded like fun and this place was right on our track to the fabulous Anchorage Museum. The modern exterior might suggest a formulaic or chain influence....More
