I came into town and this was the first place I went. I had never been here before, but friends insisted.
We started off with the popcorn appetizer, which was so different than anything I have ever had. It was glazed with a jalapeño beer,...and it was a nice heat with having a great maple flavor.
We also got the new menu item, the Pot Roast Poutine, to share. It was deliciously savory and perfect for a chilly day.
I also tried 2 of their samples of the cider, and even though I loved them both, I went with the dry brut style, and it was amazing. Almost like an apple champagne in all the best ways.
When it came to my entree, I decided on the baked Mac and cheese, and added the steak and bacon, and it made it even better. Huge pieces of marinated steak that was cooked perfectly, and well cooked bacon that had a great saltiness to it.
It was a HUGE portion, and I am so glad that I get to have left overs.
Our server, Aaron, brought out the dessert menu, and those looked amazing, but I was too full from everything else that I had to pass this time. Next time, I want to leave room for that!More
We ate here several times. The food is amazingly delicious and plentiful.
Best King Crab I have ever eaten. No Butter Needed. It is so fresh and sweet. The mashed Yukon potatoes are Delicious! Don’t pass up this meal. A must try - fried avocado....Yummyyyyyy!!More
Stopped in here for dinner on the recommendation of several people. Comfortable but casual atmosphere, and good selection of drinks and food (they have wine and cocktails in addition to beer). The King Crabby grilled cheese was definitely a highlight. They also have a bottle/gift...shop attached to the restaurant.More
We arrived in Anchorage for our two week Alaska self drive trip and left from Anchorage. We ate at 49th State twice and enjoyed it both times. Food was excellent. Servers were attentive and friendly. Decor was really nice and the views were fantastic. Highly...recommend.More
Thankfully 49th State Brewing was open when we visited in August and so many places were closed. They set up a plenty of outdoor seating. We went here a few times during our visit because it was one place that was open that had consistently...good food, service and fun. The beers were fantastic! We also enjoyed the food - the halibut fish & chips were perfectliy cooked. My husband had the Yak burger which he couldn't even fit in his mouth but it was so good. The service every visit was wonderful. Very friendly, prompt staff. We sat on the roof deck for our last visit and it was a great atmosphere.More
The food was AMAZINGLY good. The crab artichoke dip basically ruined all other artichoke cheese dip for me haha
I read on yelp that the yak burger was dry, but the server explained to me that since it is a lean meat, it is juicy...enough if you don't cook it past medium, so I ordered it medium and it was perfect.
The staff was nice, and accommodating. I went in on a Saturday night at 7 pm, and I was seated in 25 minutes, despite being quoted a 45 minute wait, and the food only took about 20 minutes for the appetizer (which was served in a cast iron skillet, so it obviously was baked, not microwaved, which takes time) and the burger came out ten minutes after that. Don't believe any reviews of the service being slow... the restaurant was slammed, yet they were perfectly timely in my opinion, and were very friendly.
It's a bit pricey, but it's in Alaska, so it's going to be...More
Excellent place to have some brews and meal. I’m an IPA guy and their beers did not disappoint. I had the Dankorage IPA @7.8% ABV and for food, the Blackened Alaskan Halibut tacos. You get 2 tacos and it was very filling and delicious!
I...would highly recommend a visit here for lunch or dinner.More
