I'm not a big sushi fan but they did have some cooked options including prawn avocado rolls which is what I got. They were delicious! We also ordered calamari which was ok, but I've definitely had better. The service was good too.

Umi is one of the best sushi restaurants that I have patronized. The fish is fantastic. The rolls are unique and varied. The sake list is extensive. The service was attentive without being over bearing. Outside of Japan, this is one of the best sushi experiences I have ever enjoyed. I will absolutely seek this restaurant out again the next... Since many people talked about this place, so I had high hope for it. However, it was just fine. Service was great though, they were friendly and environment was really great, but the food was just okay.

Nice place. Little disappointed in food considering this place is ranked #2 on Trip Advisor. Definitely have had better food at other Japanese restaurants.

This review is about flavor and pure enjoyment of the delicious creations at Umi Sake House. It isn't based on authenticity or a "compared to what I had in L.A." or a criticism of 6 Punishable-by-Death Sushi Don’ts. It is about remarkable flavor that is achieved at Umi and probably one of the best experiences you'll have if you love... More

This place had a very cool, hip vibe with lots of non-traditional restaurant seating. We sat side by side on a comfy sofa that was perfect for conversation, but also the right height for the table (often that's a miss with alternate seating). The menu was INCREDIBLE. It took us forever to decide what to order because the menu was... More

About to read the menu outside when a couple guys said to just go in - it's the best in town! Well they weren't kidding and it was "happy hour(s)". Great special pricing and never even looked at the regular menu, several items to choose from along with full bar. If you love sushi - you're in for a treat.

Not sure why I had never been to this place, but what a pleasant surprise. From the great staff, to the interesting drink menu (good sake of course, but some great updates to classic drinks). The portions are reasonable for the prices. The special salmon sashimi trio of the day was well prepared, and served on a nice plate. The... More

The sushi here is fantastic. The menu is expansive, with lots of options and even some seasonal rolls. The staff is attentive and kind, and the environment is fun. I would recommend the sashimi!
