We had dinner with friends at this lovely neighborhood restaurant and loved the food. The octopus appetizer is amazing, the picci was delicious. My friends had the ravioli, the steak and the brick chicken and all raved about each dish. The red blend which is made for the restaurant is delicious. (Frank the Tank) We had a delightful server who... More

The main reason this place gets 4 rather than 3 stars was because the pasta really was outstanding. The downside was the service which we attribute to the mandatory 20% gratuity added to every check. It gives the wait staff no incentive to be attentive or friendly. Our food took a while to get there which isn't great when you... More

the food is ok but what irritated me to most is being forced to pay 20% service fee on the bill....this is insane! its not that i wouldn't likely tip 20% anyway but being forced to give a gratuity without consideration of the level and quality of service is robbery. there is no incentive for the staff to be unusually... Tavolata make basic/rustic dishes which would be great if they stuck to Italian flavours. However there was sugar in absolutely everything. My ravioli with black truffle was filled with lemon ricotta that tasted more like lemon meringue. Way too sweet. Even the sausage meat in the rigatoni dish was sweet. Everything tastes like they'd added a load of sugar. You... More

Ate at Tavolata and truly enjoyed our meal. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient. The food was fantastic and the presentation was excellent. We sat outside and enjoyed the ambiance. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Neighborhoody type of place, always seems busy, and the reason is great pasta dishes. Consistent over many visits.

1st time diner in an Ethan Sowell restaurant. Met a friend form the east coast. Made reservations in open table. Super easy. Nice 1.2 mile walk from the Seattle ferry. Great atmosphere. Tasty drinks. To die for melt in your mouth pasta dishes. Highly recommend the smoked fish brushettA and the fresh tomatoes mozzarella and basil for apps. The ravioli... More

Bright, airy restaurant, the first room as a long communal table down the center with booths and tables on either side. Prompt, knowledgeable service. Menu has terrific choices of pasta as well as entrees. The pasta was tender and tasty. In fact, you get a couple of bags to take home (uncooked of course) with the bill. We were on... More

We had a good Italian meal here, but it is very noisy. The interior is eclectic and trendy. Large portions. Decent wine list.
